The Iraq Invasion costs WHAT?

According to the the AP, "the Pentagon is in the early stages of drafting a wartime request for up to $100 billion more for Iraq and Afghanistan, lawmakers say, a figure that would push spending related to the wars toward a staggering half-trillion dollars."
That's Five Hundred Billion dollars ($500,000,000,000.00) spent to blow the shit out of a back-asswards country that wasn't even a threat to it's next-door neighbors, to kick out a tyrannical leader who didn't have enough authority over his own damned country to fly planes over 2/3 of it (the north and south "no-fly zones" were strictly off limits to Iraqi aircraft, enforced by U.S. fighter jets). This man, they say, who couldn't even defend his own country, was a threat to the United States of America, the most militarily and economically powerful nation in the history of the world. And people BELIEVED that shit?? Anyway, that's a different argument. But man, it still amazes me just how frikking stupid people can be.
Back to my point, $500,000,000,000.00 That's an impressive number.
Almost unimaginable to most people, including me, so let's do a little exercise in perspective:
The bill for the Iraq invasion: 500 Billion World population (approx): 6 billion U.S. population: 295 million
The cost of the invasion per person comes to:
About $80 each for every man, women, and child on the planet.
In nations like Burundi, that is a year's wages for the average adult. There are 59 countries in the world where this is more than a month's wages for the average adult. Look here for details
But, the whole world isn't footing the bill for this. It's strictly an American fiasco, so let's see what that comes to.
Cost of invasion per American: $1695 for every man, woman, and child. That's $6776 for a family of four.
What could you and your family do with 7 grand besides blow it up and mop up blood with it?
What could America do with the $195 million a day that this occupation is costing us? Here are a whole bunch of ideas. Any of these are good. Hell, in my opinion, we'd be better off, as a nation, if instead of using it for war, we just made a big pile of dollar bills and burned it for heat.
