Proposed rules would let the attorney general sign-off on "fast-tracking' death penalty appeals.

Keeping Retirement Interesting

Working people frequently ask retired people what they do to make their days interesting.

Well, for example, the other day I went downtown and went into a shop.
I was only in there for about 5 minutes and when I came out there was a cop writing out a parking ticket. I went up to him and said, "Come on, man, how about giving a retired person a break"? He ignored me and continued writing the ticket.

I called him a "Nazi." He glared at me and started writing another ticket for having worn tires. So I called him a "doughnut eating Gestapo." He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first. Then he started writing a third ticket.

This went on for about 20 minutes. The more I abused him, the more tickets he wrote.

Personally, I didn't care. I came downtown on the bus and the car that he was putting the tickets on had a bumper sticker that said "Bush 04."

I try to have a little fun each day now that I'm retired. It's important for my health.

Traveling from MN to NE I picked up Tuesday's Des Moines Register and found this tidbit on Page 2A "People in the News":

Nicholson pledges to expand mental health care for veterans

Veterans Affairs Secretary Jim Nicholson promised Monday to add mental health services at more than 100 VA medical centers to fight resistance to seeking help for depression and other illnesses.
The VA is being pressed by growing cases of mental health problems such as post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury from veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, Nicholson said at a national forum of VA mental health experts.

Massive Bank Heist in Central Baghdad

Guards staged one of the largest bank robberies in Iraqi history, making off with a stunning $282 million dollars in cash from a private bank in central Baghdad, Aswat al-Iraq reports in Arabic.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, an Interior Ministry source told Aswat al-Iraq that, “Three guards working for the Dar al-Salam Bank located on Sa'adoun Street in central Baghdad were able to attack the bank . . . stealing a sum of up to $282 million dollars, and fled in an unknown direction after implementing the operation.”

“The bank robbery is considered one of the most massi

We're so brainwashed with this capitalism worship that the many many faults and outright evil aspects never get much mention. This is one Commie practice I really like. Capital punishment for white collar crime. Ah...it'd make great pay per view.

Why they really fired Amus

You're right about Amus (say it quickly) but I'm more cynical than you are. I think he was let go not due to what he said per se. Hannity, Rush, Savage, and O'Really have spewed much worse bile.

He was let go because advertisers dropped support of the show. Money trumps truth.
Freedom of the press is only for those who can afford the press. We must work to keep the net remaining neutral.

Peace and health,
Jeb
