The Great Outdoors
By Ed

Ed here,
I'm happy to say that deer hunting season is upon us again. I will be hunting this week-end with a 54 caliber muzzle-loader. With any luck, I will drop the biggest buck I've ever taken. He will have to beat my 13 point 250 pounder I took 3 years ago. A 250 pound white-tail is a rare deer, but I think I have what it takes to beat my personal record this year. I will be hunting in Guthrie County Iowa. Guthrie County Iowa is a deer hunter's heaven. It will be the first time I've hunted there, but I have a good friend that I was stationed in Korea with in the 70's that invited me down to drop the hammer on a big boy. Then, after I drop the big fella with the muzzle-loader, I will bring out my Bow and take another with an arrow. Hunting season kicks ass.
If there is anyone out there that doesn't like hunting, I feel sorry for you. A lot of people think that we should let these animals live their life with no interruptions. The problem with that is when these animals over-populate disease takes over and annihilates the whole population of these animals. Maintaining a reasonable population of deer benefits us all, including the deer. I talk about deer hunting, because I'm too lazy to go pheasant hunting, too much walking involved.
What I'm trying to say is this:
Gun control is an issue the Democrats need to lay off of. 99.99% of gun owners are law abiding citizens. This is one of the reasons the Republicans have been able to use gun control against us. The 2nd amendment is here to stay I hope. I don't mind having a waiting period before buying a gun, but I damn well better be able to buy that gun if I want it. When I lose that right, America is no longer America.
I must tell you all that I don't have to harvest an animal to have a good hunting trip. I enjoy spending time with my kids and my friends in the great out-doors. With any luck, I'll live long enough to take my grand-children on some hunting adventures to carry on the tradition. Some of my favorite memories of time with my 2 sons are the times they each took their first deer. If they read this, they know exactly what I'm talking about. I don't think they will forget it either. I'm happy to say that I remember it way more than they do.
Both of my boys have families now, so they don't get to get out and go hunting with the old fat guy like they used to. Hopefully times will change and they will be able to afford to get out and spend some time with me and their kids in The Great Outdoors.

The October Surprise
By Ed
Wednesday, October 11, 2006
Ed here,
I hope all of you Democrats out there don't think that "The October Surprise" is Mark Foley. The Republicans are much too smart to let that be their downfall. In fact, the best thing that could have happened during the Foley scandal was for the North Koreans to play the "nucular" card (as Bush likes to call it).
If memory serves me, Bush said that North Korea was part of the axis-of-evil. How can you call a man that got 6 holes-in-one in a round of golf, the leader of an axis-of-evil country? Kim Jong Il is a little man that inherited a country from his father. An American film buff that wears platform shoes, and claims to have gotten 6 aces in an 18 hole round of golf. I believe he did get 6 holes-in-one in a round. It is not that hard to get the ball through the clown's mouth on the first try.
Had Bush chosen to talk with North Korea instead of name-calling, we might not have to worry about North Korea today.
I think "The October Surprise" is rearing its ugly head now. I do think that some Republicans that thought the GOP was the party of values are starting to realize how full of shit Bush and his cronies are. Bush didn't want the U.N. involved with Iraq, but now he wants the U.N. to intervene in the North Korean nucular (again as Bush calls it) threat. What side of the fence is he on?
I just thought of something, THERE IS NO OIL IN NORTH KOREA. North Korea is no Iraq either. Bush and his boys can't handle Iraq, how could they ever deal with North Korea.
I was stationed in South Korea from 2/76 till 5/77 while serving in the U.S. Army. The Korean people treated me very well. They are very nice people. And now Bush and the Republican machine are going to use them for their gain. Bush doesn't care about Koreans, Iraqis, or anyone else, other than his rich buddies. When are people going to see him for what he is, A draft-dodging momma's boy.
Part of the surprise is started in the form of a double-talking, flip-flopping, Bush hating, then Bush loving, say anything you gotta say to get elected piece of shit. Yes I'm talking about John McCain. I wouldn't walk across the street to piss on that weasel if he was on fire. McCain is worse than Bush. At least when Bush lies to us, he keeps on lying. McCain on the other hand can't decide which way he wants to go from one week to the next. He's decided to blame the North Korean crisis on Bill Clinton.
North Korea has done more in the last 5 1/2 years to further their nucular program (as Bush calls it) than they ever did the 8 years Clinton was in office. Colin Powell wanted to continue Clinton's policy with North Korea during the first term of the so-called Bush presidency. There's a new sheriff in town. Bush straps on his toy 6 shooters and decides it's his way or the highway. Powell took the highway. I guess Powell decided he couldn't work for a draft-dodging momma's boy. McCain on the other hand can, this month. Next month he will sing a different tune. That's his M.O.
The rest of the surprise will be in the form of Republicans coming out of the wood-work to blame Bill Clinton for everything from North Korea to Osama Bin Laden to Failure in Iraq to Failure in Afghanistan to Immigration to 9/11 to $3.00 a gallon for gas to the Congressional Page scandal. They will all say that Clinton is the reason all of this shit happened. Just because it all happened while Republicans held the White House, the Senate, and the House doesn't mean it can't be Clinton's fault.
The only way for the Democrats to turn the October Surprise into the October Failure for the Republicans is to come down hard, fast, and continuous and expose these people for what they are. If they don't, and I don't think they will, the Democrats will lose again.
Opinions are like ass-holes, I just showed you mine.

Overly Friendly
By Ed
Wednesday, October 4, 2006
Ed here,
Dennis Hastert has proved once again that the Republican leadership in this country will stop at nothing to retain power. Hastert claims his office knew about the page scandal but didn't feel was worth burdening him with such a trivial matter. At least that's my assumption of Hastert's comments. I would think that the party with GAWD on their side would want to put people like Rep. Foley behind bars. Nope, not when the pedophile (the accused pedophile) has an R. in front of his name.
Does anyone remember President Bill Clinton? The Republican Party wanted him behind bars for having sex with someone other than his wife and then lying about it. I do believe that what Clinton did was wrong, but at least it was with an ADULT FEMALE.
If Hastert is telling the truth that his staff was informed, but he wasn't, can you really trust a Congressman that can't pick his staff any better than that? Maybe his staff thinks that having cyber-sex with teen-age boys is OK. Remember GAWD is on the side of the morally right Republicans. Then to make matters worse, the sorry piece of shit that he is decides to say that the Democrats are pressing the subject merely for political gain.
Just maybe the people pressing the issue just don't like pedophiles. Is that possible? I do believe that the Republican majority leader John Boehner, and Rep.Tom Reynolds from New York spoke with Rep. Hastert after Rep. Rodney Alexander from LA. Spoke to them about the situation. Apparently Mr. Hastert chose to forget the conversation. Or maybe Mr. Hastert doesn't have a problem with middle-aged men having cyber-sex with teen-aged boys. Overly friendly? In a pig's fuckin' ass. In my opinion, Dennis Hastert is a sorry piece of shit.
It is very hard for me to believe that so many of our politicians memories are so cloudy. I'm sure I just heard Condi Rice say she didn't remember having a specific conversation this week also(this was regarding a completely different subject though. I don't want it to sound like I'm trying to tie her into this issue). Mr. Boehner, Mr. Reynolds, & Mr. Alexander, all 3 Republicans apparently didn't forget though. Doing away with pedophiles should be a bi-partisan issue. These three men appear to be on the same side of the pedophile issue I'm on.
Now Bush
The sorry fuck that he is has decided to stand behind Hastert. Does this fucker have no shame? Knowing full-well that Hastert was informed by Boehner & Reynolds of the situation he has decided to back Hastert. My bet is that when the truth comes out he'll forget that he backed him. Maybe GW doesn't have a problem with pedophiles. Or will Boehner and Reynolds cave under GOP pressure and change their stories? I think they will change their stories. After all, they have GAWD on their side. Now GAWD
If you listen to Bush and a lot of others, GAWD will see us through anything. Provided you worship the same GAWD they do. If you don't, you will pay the ultimate price. Apparently GAWD thinks it's OK if you stand behind a man that thinks pedophilia is just overly friendly.
Now GOD
I believe GOD will judge me when my time comes. In the immortal words of Desi, "You got some splainin to do" I will have to do some serious talking to get myself in. I did go to bed with a 14 year old girl, but I was 16 when I did it. God can't get me for having cyber-sex with a teen-aged boy or girl when I was in my 50's though. I think I might have a shot at getting in, but it's gonna be close. The parts about Hastert and Bush and GAWD are my opinions, but the part about GOD I hope works out. Opinions are like ass-holes, I just showed you mine. ED
