The National Black Republican Group
By Ed
Wednesday, September 27, 2006

Ed here,

This is one fucked up group of people (all 8 of them). I'm not sure how many of them there are, but I can't imagine this being a large group of people. I would bet they are being funded by rich white Republicans. A million man march is out of the question.

The Lt. Governor in the state of Maryland is running for an open Senate seat. His name is Michael Steele (he is black). Some of the people that seem to be supporting Mr. Steele on radio ads are the National Black Republican Group. These radio ads are another example of the Republican Party proving how stupid Americans can be. The ad claims that the Democratic Party founded the Ku Klux Klan. It goes on to say that Martin Luther King Jr. was a Republican.

I read this article about this ad in the Omaha World Herald. When I read it, I thought how can people make up these lies and sleep at night. The ad goes like this; Two women talking (I have to assume they were two black women). One tells the other that "Dr. King was a real man. You know he was a Republican". She goes on to say that the "Democrats passed those black codes and Jim Crow laws. Democrats started the KKK". Her companion replied "The Klan? White hoods and sheets?". I will go on to say that Lt. Gov. Steele has disavowed the ad and asked the group to stop running it. Good Republican politics as far as I can see. The damage has been done.

I decided to some checking on this and was amazed at what I found. Martin Luther King Jr. was a registered Republican in 1956. The KKK was probably founded by Democrats. No political party has ever claimed responsibility for the KKK, but when the KKK was on the rise in the south, the political atmosphere in the south was Democrat. It was called the strong south for the Democratic Party.

My how times change. The south was primarily Democrat because of Abraham Lincoln. Remember, he's the man that freed us black folk. As the people changed so did their political affiliations. The north has maintained their views on minorities, and so has the south. The proof is in the pudding. Any black person that lives in the south knows that they are treated like lower classed citizens down there.

David Duke is a prime example of political beliefs changing over the years. In 1976 Dave Duke ran for a state senate seat in Louisiana as a Democrat. He got blown out of the water; lost his ass. In 1989 he ran as a Republican against John Treen and was elected to the Louisiana House of Representatives. For those of you that don't know, David Duke was elected the Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan in 1974. At the time, Duke was a Democrat, but the only way he could win political office was by being a Republican.

Times have changed. My guess is that the National Black Republican Group never spent no time in Mobile Alabama.

HEADLINES
By Ed

Ed here,

The headlines said these are the worst of times. I do believe it's true. Anyone that has ever listened to the band Styx, knows that these are the opening lines on the Paradise Theater album. I think it's time for everyone to dig that cd out and get into some fantastic music. OK, you forgot about this album, but now that you are listening to it again, I know you are enjoying it. Little did the guys from Styx know that those 2 opening lines would be true 26 years after they wrote them. With the way things are going, I hate to say it, but it's only going to get worse.

MUSLIMS BOIL OVER POPE'S WORDS

It seems the Pope has decided that the some of the teachings of the Islam religion are evil and inhuman. Pope Benedict XVI has the balls to run his mouth and talk about Islam, but he seems more than willing to ignore the problems in his own religion. Maybe the Pope should worry about cleaning his house before he tells someone else their house is dirty. People that live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. After all, who does he think he is? The Pope or something.

BUSH FIGHTS BACK AGAINST FIGHT ON INTERROGATIONS

It seems that Bush has decided the American people don't have the ability to understand Article 3 of the Geneva Convention. I have to think that he is the one that doesn't understand. We cannot allow a draft dodger to desecrate the Geneva Accord. He doesn't care about our troops that may be captured and tortured. Why would he, he wasn't man enough to represent his country. As far as Bush is concerned, our young men and women in the military are expendable. I am a Viet Nam era veteran. I didn't serve in Nam, but I would have if called.

Bush is not a religious man, but by trying to act like one he got elected. I don't remember the last time I went to church, but I'd be willing to bet that the Lord won't hold that against me. He doesn't care if I give money to a preacher so he can drive a Cadillac.

SOCIAL SECURITY FIX WILL WAIT SAYS GRASSLEY

It seems that Senator Grassley (R. Iowa) has decided that Social Security Reform can only be accomplished after a presidential election. What exactly is he saying? Is he saying that taking care of our retirees can only be done when Bush is gone? Is he saying the Congress and Senate have no power over the President? Or is he saying that we are going to screw the WORKING MAN AND HIS FAMILY as long as we possibly can. Grassley doesn't have to worry about retirement, he is a millionaire. His heirs are millionaires so why should he care about someone that worked their whole life and has to decide what's more important, food or heat. Charles Grassley is a scum-bag as are most all politicians. Democrat or Republican, politicians look out for politicians. They vote for pay raises for themselves, but we can't have a raise in the minimum wage

BAYH: DEMOCRATS CAN'T BE WIMPS ON TERROR

The so-called war on terror really bothers me. The Europeans have been dealing with terrorists for years. They declared war on terrorists long before the term "War on Terror" was ever coined by the Bush Administration. Have you ever heard of The Baader Meinhof gang? They were the German Red Army Faction. They terrorized West Germany in the 70's and 80's. They are either dead or in prison, mostly dead. The point is that the German government didn't attack another country in the "War on Terror". They attacked the terrorists themselves. I agree with Senator Bayh, but the Democrats need to enforce the fact that the Bush Administration attacked Iraq in the name of terror, instead of going after the terrorists themselves. The Democrats need to tell the American people they will do whatever it takes to stop terrorist groups, and tell them how they are going to do it.

VETERAN CONGRESSMAN SHAYS STRUGGLES WITH IRAQ WAR VIEWS

It seems that Chris Shays (R. Connecticut) is now having issues with the so-called war in Iraq. A conscientious objector during the Viet Nam war (would it be safe to assume he never served our country?) had a hard time voting for GHW Bush going into Iraq, but was all for Jr. going in because of weapons of mass destruction. Now he's saying that Bush has no credibility. I agree with him on that, but I'm sure he's only saying that because there is an election coming up. Typical Republican in my book. Republicans will throw their own mothers under the bus if it will help them win an election.

GOV. ANNE RICHARDS DEAD AT 73

The state of Texas lost a great woman this week. I take that back, America lost a great woman this week. She took on the Bush family, and exposed them for what they are. When W. beat her in the election for governor, it proved to me and the rest of the country that most people that vote in Texas are complete fucking morons. The woman took no shit from anybody. I like a woman like that. The state of Texas is too stupid to realize what they've lost. She had way bigger balls than W. or his old-man. She will be missed.

Opinions are like ass-holes; I just showed you mine.

Ed here,

Did America learn anything in the last 5 years? I think some Americans did but I doubt that W and the Republican Party did. I also doubt the leadership in the Democratic Party has learned much either. That is why the Republican Party will retain the House and Senate in November.

When they do, if you think the price of gas was high in July, you will be wishing for $3.00 gas. Just last week, oil went back over $70.00 per barrel, and the next day in my home town, gas prices dropped 11 cents. What in the fuck is going on with that? 6 months ago, if there was a chance of a storm in the Gulf of Mexico, gas prices rose whether the storm hit or not.

The reason the Republicans will hold is because they are smart enough to realize that most Americans have been dumbed down over the years. This dumbing down period started with that piece of shit actor Ronald Reagan. By gradually cutting funding for educating Americans, he insured the Republican Party would be able to get stronger as the years went by. They have trained people to pay attention to the 3 months before an election and forget about the 21 months after an election.

Until we get some real leadership in the Democratic Party, we are fucked. Can anyone give me any idea who might be able to right the ship for the Democrats in this election? The presidential election is only 26 months away. The Democrats need someone to step up to the plate and start playing ball. We need someone to stand up and start hammering Bush and his crowd for what they are.

Senator Paul Wellstone from Minnesota was that kind of guy, but he managed to die in a plane crash. I'm not saying his plane crash was anything other than an accident, and I would never make any accusations like that, but I do know the Republican machine didn't like him. I would not be surprised if I heard his crash was something other than an accident. Anyway, back to did we learn anything.

The American public is all for patriotism and national security provided it doesn't cause us any inconvenience. We've gone soft. Our bank accounts seem to be more important than our way of life. Over the years we have learned that we are better than other people. We have gotten so used to being lazy and getting paid for it that we can't do anything for ourselves anymore. It has gotten to the point that Americans feel they are above manual labor so to speak. This will be the downfall of the U.S. as we know it. The proof is in the pudding. It seems that more people will pay a buck to vote for American Idol than will vote for the president, with no charge I might add.

So to answer the question, this country hasn't learned shit and is getting dumber by the day. When the Republicans retain the House and Senate in November, my point will be made.

Opinions are like assholes, I just showed you mine.
