Gas Prices and Iraq
By Ed
Thursday, August 31, 2006

Ed here,

On my way home from work today I noticed that regular un-leaded gas was $2.68 per gallon. Diesel fuel on the other hand was still $3.21 per gallon. Two weeks ago I was paying $2.96 for gas, and diesel was $3.24. How can gas drop 28 cents but diesel only drop 3 cents? Must be that new math. Wasn't it about 6 months ago that diesel was cheaper than gas?

It is looking like the oil companies know who is buttering their bread. Fuck the truck drivers and most farmers, because they will vote Republican no matter what. I know 7 truck drivers, and every one of them is a hard-core Republican. I have a hard time figuring out why, but the big boys in the Republican Party also know that most truckers are going to vote Republican no matter what. All I can figure is that they spend so much time listening to Rush and Hannity that they can't seem to figure things out for themselves.

The big boys also know that most farmers will vote Republican because there are very few family farmers left in this country. I do know a few farmers that are Democrat, but that is only because they are still members of the family farming community. They also have to work a full-time job to make ends meet. They are in the minority in the farming community. Farming subsides were originally created to help the family farmer make a go of it. Corporate farmers have consumed over 90% of government subsides that were intended for the little guy. There are so few family farmers left that they don't need their votes.

Since the Republicans have the trucking and farming vote in their pocket they can keep fucking them on fuel prices. Your average Republican that has to drive 25 miles to work every day that is getting tired of GW's shit is another story. Some of them are getting tired of seeing our kids get killed over a war for our oil companies. Some of them are getting tired of having to scrape to pay heating bills in the winter. Some of them are getting tired of seeing our school systems going to hell. Some of them are getting tired of losing all of their benefits where they work. Whatever they are getting tired of, they are getting tired of it. A lot of them will feel better about things if they can fill their tank up at an affordable price, and the Republican machine knows that.

The biggest problem with Republican voters seems to be that they care more about the last 3 months before an election instead of the 21 months after an election. As usual, child psychology works. Bush gave the oil companies the ok to gouge us since the last election, but you can bet he told them to lay off till after the elections. Mark my words, prices will drop till Nov. If the Republicans hold on, watch-out.

Now to Iraq

I wish I could take credit for this idea, but I'm nowhere near smart enough to think of this. I heard the idea 2nd hand but it is worth forwarding.

To all of the Democrats that want to see us out of Iraq, here's a sure fire way to make Bush look like the idiot and keep themselves from being accused of cut-and-run.

Bush has decided that Iraq has a Democratic government in place. I have heard him say it several times. He has gone on to say that the government he installed is doing a fine job. We can have our kids home in 3 easy steps:
Step 1: Democrats need to agree with W on how well Iraq's government is doing. Piece of cake.

Step 2: Since Iraq is a country with a democratic government we need to insist that Iraq has free a free election to decide if the Iraqi people want U.S. forces occupying their land. I would bet the election results would be over 90% in favor of the U.S. letting Iraq have their country back.

Step 3: GET THE FUCK OUT.

We all know that Bush won't allow anything like that as long as he controls the House and Senate. If the Democrats can re-take both houses he won't have a choice. So all of you Democrats out there running, take the bull by the horns and tell people you'd like to see Iraq make some decisions for themselves. Then tell the people that we will use the money we are wasting in Iraq to secure our own borders and take care of Americans like the Katrina victims. They have been waiting long enough for help.

Al Gore Should Have Been President In 2000 - "Bull-Shit"
By Ed
Wednesday, August 23, 2006

Ed here,

Now that I've got your attention, I intend to prove to you why that would be very bad for this country. Don't get me wrong, I wanted Al to win, but Al fucked himself when he picked that piece of shit Lieberman as his running-mate. I voted for Al, but I also knew that Republican Joe was more baggage than Al's moving van could carry. Shit, Al couldn't even carry his home state.

The fact that Al won the popular vote and lost the election proves that our system still works. Our founding fathers were very smart in creating The Electoral College. I would hate to see The Electoral College removed in place of a general winner takes all election. The 2000 election was not the first time The Electoral College decided an election. The majority of people in this country want to see The Electoral College abolished. I am in the minority on that issue. Here's why;
  1. We all live in a Republic, not a Democracy, and if you don't believe that, recite The Pledge of Allegiance. I think it has a line that says "And to the Republic for which it stands". The difference between a Republic and a Democracy is this; A Democracy says that majority rules. Majority rules are OK for state and local elections because the people affected are the only people that are from that state or local area. In voting for the President, a majority wins election would be decided by the smaller more populated areas of the country. States like Iowa and all of the other sparsely populated states would have very little say in the election. Iowa has 7 votes in the Electoral College. Not many, but at least we have a say in the matter.

  2. If we lived in a Democracy, women would have never been given the right to vote. After all, the only people voting then were men. If any of you think men were going to give that up and let a woman have a say in what goes on you're nuts. Women's having the right to vote is an example of a Republic at work. I am not trying to say that women got the right to vote because of the Electoral College. They got the right to vote because we live in a Republic.

  3. If we lived in a Democracy, African Americans would have never been allowed to vote. I'll be damned if the White American (god fearin) people were going to allow a bunch of niggers to vote. If we lived in a Democracy, blacks would not be voting today. Blacks having the right to vote is another example of a Republic at work. Again I will not say blacks got the right to vote because of the Electoral College. Again, a Republic.

The idea behind The Electoral College was to not allow smaller more populated area's of the country dictate how the whole country lives. This country was founded on let's take care of the little guy. If you think about it, The United States of America was founded because people were tired of being treated like lower classed citizens in England. They got tired of paying for the rich to get richer and the poor to get poorer. A lot of people think The Electoral College is out of date and should be eliminated. I have to think a lot of people think it should be eliminated because they lost. Big fucking deal.

We elect our Congress democratically, and that's the way they planned it. Thank God they were smart enough to set things up the way they did. Even if we lose an election. Had they not set things up the way they did, I would probably end up in jail for some of the things I have said in this column. Surely, I would not be able to vote. Let's give our founding fathers some credit for what they did. They created The United States of America, and I can't think of any place I'd rather be. So to all the morons out there that think we live in a democracy, go back to 7th grade social studies and learn something about our government.

Opinions are like ass-holes, I just showed you mine.

We Need To Rebuild Lebanon
By Ed
Wednesday, August 16, 2006

Ed here,

Well now, do you suppose that Bush is going to tell us how we need to rebuild Lebanon? After all, the country has been decimated by the Israeli bombing campaign.

Lebanon is a democratic country. Maybe we should forget the fact that they voted Hezbollah into power. Is it possible that Bush gave Israel the go-ahead to bomb the shit out of Lebanon so companies like Halliburton can go in and milk more money from Americans to re-build the desert-community called Lebanon? Could this be his way of proving to the international community that he is not only for Methodists and Catholics, but he's also for Buddhists and Mustlims. Only if it provides funds for Halliburton and the like. I think Cheney is still reaping the rewards from Halliburton.

When is America going to wakeup and see what these people in command are doing? The only reason Israel exists is because America took them under their wing and gave them the power they have. George could have told them that since only 2 soldiers(not to make it sound like these 2 people were disposable) were abducted we need to have diplomatic dialogue to bring a close to the problem, but NO........ WE BAD.

I don't have a problem with Israel or Lebanon, but America needs to let the people in the middle-east live the way they want to live. If we would let them take care of business the way they want to, we wouldn't have all the problems we have. In other words, if they want a democracy, let them have a democracy, if they want to live under an iron-fist, let them live under an iron-fist. Religion has dictated how these people have lived for thousands of years. Guess what George; you cannot change that. Personally I think you know that, but use it as a way to further your agenda.

Bottom line is this; if we leave people alone and not try to inflict our fucked-up values on them, they won't try to inflict their fucked-up values on us. Because when push comes to shove, we're all fucked-up.

Again, opinions are like ass-holes, I just showed you mine.

Chuck Hagel
By Ed
Wednesday, August 9, 2006

Ed here,

Chuck Hagel is the senator from Nebraska that has been dogging Bush lately for his handling of Iraq. I think Chucky has intentions of living in Washington. I'm not talking about living in Washington; I'm talking about living on top of the hill in Washington. Personally, I think Chucky would make a much better president than Bush, but then, I'm pretty sure Eddie Haskell would make a better president than the one we have.

So when push comes to shove, since Chucky is considered a so-called moderate Republican, the Republican party feels they need to move more towards the center if they want to hold on to the top of the hill. Chucky is not a centrist. I think his acting skills far out-weigh those of one Ronald Reagan.

Here's why;

  1. Mar. 2005 Chucky voted no on $100 million to reduce teen pregnancy by education and contraception. Chucky is without a doubt against a woman's right to choose.

  2. Mar. 2005 Chucky voted no on repealing tax subsidy for companies which move U.S. jobs off-shore. July 2001 Chucky voted yes on restricting rules on personal bankruptcy. Chucky is without a doubt pro-business and against the working man.

  3. May 1999 Chucky voted against money to continue the COPS program. Apparently he likes having people thrown in jail, but doesn't seem to like having the police work with young people to help lead them down a better path.

  4. Oct 2005 Chucky voted no on 21st century community learning centers. Chucky voted no on local educational agencies. Mar. 2005 Chucky voted no on shifting $11 billion in corporate tax loop-holes to education. Chucky has consistently voted against public education. We can't have an un-qualified work force if we allow all American children a good education. This is just a guess on my part, but I'd bet his kids were schooled privately.

  5. Oct. 2005 Chucky voted no on $3.1 billion for emergency oil assistance for hurricane hit areas. Chucky don't like us black folk. July 2003 Chucky voted yes on the Bush Administration Energy Policy. How fucked-up is that?

  6. Sept. 2005 Chucky voted no on oil and gas smoke-stacks in mercury regulations. Sept. 1997 Chucky voted no on reducing funds for road building in national forests. Chucky could care less about the environment as long as you stay the fuck off his ranch in Nebraska.

  7. Mar. 2006 Chucky voted to allow gifts to congress from lobbyists. Chucky voted no on establishing the Senate Office for Public Integrity. In other words, you working folk better do as I say, not as I do.

  8. Chucky has an A rating from the NRA. Need I say more?

  9. May 2006 Chucky voted yes on limiting medical liability law-suits to $250,000. Feb. 2006 Chucky voted no on expanding enrollment period for Medicare Part D. June 2001 Chucky voted no on allowing patients to sue HMOs & collect punitive damages. June 2000 Chucky voted no on including prescription drugs under Medicare. July 1999 Chucky voted yes on limiting self-employment health deduction. June 1998 Chucky voted no on increasing tobacco restrictions. It's obvious that Chucky could care less about the public's health. His way of thinking seems to be, the answer to the social security problem can be eliminated if more people die before they get a chance to draw social security benefits.

  10. May 2006 Chucky voted yes on allowing illegal aliens to participate in the social security program. Isn't it the Republican stand that says illegal is illegal? Let me get this right Chucky. If a kid gets caught with a bag of pot his ass belongs in jail, but someone that enters this country illegally deserves retirement benefits? Must be a Republican thing that I can't figure out.

  11. Mar. 2005 Chucky voted no on raising the minimum wage. Mar. 2001 Chucky voted yes on repealing Clintons ergonomic rules on repetitive stress. Does this mean that you are against the working man Chucky?

The list goes on and on. Chuck Hagel (according to the talking heads on TV) is a moderate Republican. If his voting record is any indication, I think we can all say he's more of a George Bush wannabe. Chuck Hagel makes Chucky in the horror films look like a Cub Scout.

Opinions are like ass-holes, I just showed you mine.

What have you done for me lately?
By Ed
Wednesday, August 2, 2006

Ed here,

The following is a phone conversation heard by a fly on the wall in the office of Katherine Harris. I'm not sure that it actually took place, but I bet it went something like this:

Kat; "I want to be a Senator in Florida".

High ranking Republican; "Why should we back you Kat?"

Kat; "I did everything you asked in the 2000 elections".

High ranking Republican; "Kat that was 6 years ago".

Kat; "I cheated and lied to get George Bush in the White House".

High ranking Republican; "So what if you did".

Kat; "But I screwed thousands of Democrats out of their votes. That should count for something".

High ranking Republican; "And for that we thank you Kat, but what have you done for us lately?"

Kat; "Wasn't that enough?"

High ranking Republican; "Don't make me laugh Kat."

Kat; "That's not a fair."

High ranking Republican; "You want fair? I'll tell you what fair is. Fair is us using you to do our dirty work and then throwing you under the bus."

Kat; "So the Republican Party isn't going to back me in my bid for Senator?"

High ranking Republican; "Do we look stupid Kat? You are a liability. You should know that we are the party with all of the moral and ethical values. Most people hate you. You brought it on yourself by lying and cheating. We can't win in Florida if we have a candidate that lied and cheated on national TV. We need a liar that hasn't lied and cheated like you have......yet?. Besides, you're a woman."

Kat; "I'm going to call the President, he gave me his hot-line number when he got elected, he'll back me, he's a man of honor".

High ranking Republican; "OK Kat do what you've got to do, bye."

Kat hangs up and immediately starts dialing the President's hot-line and then puts the phone to her ear.

Operator; "We're sorry, the number you have dialed is no longer in service".

Don't get me wrong, I like Katherine Harris about as much as I like having to pay to fill up my gas tank these days, but that only goes to show what the Republican Party is all about. Bush wouldn't back his country in Viet Nam, so why would anyone think he'd back one of the major players in his election. Maybe it's because she's a woman. He backs Cheney and Rummy. They are by far worse than her. I think it's because Cheney and Rummy would kick his ass if he tried that with them. Remember, Bush is a coward, but I'm sure he thinks he can take a woman.

My advice to Kat is this; Since you're a rich old-lady getting older, go and buy a house on a golf course, find a 25 year old tennis instructor to satisfy you, then don't miss any appointments with your plastic surgeon. Fade off into the distance girl, you're starting to sag.

A fly told me this and I believe him.
