"The NASCAR Liberal" clyde@dubyaD40.com

The names were changed to protect the inebriated!
by Clyde
8:25 AM

A Freeper buddy of mine and I have had a running debate through email for about the last year and this is how far we have gotten in that time. I received this latest installment last weekend.

Clyde, what did Rush lie about? Nothing that I heard. As a liberal, I don't expect you to listen to Rush all the time, you get your info from DU, or the likes. Worse yet, you put your own spin on it. Therefore, I don't expect you - or DU - or any left of center, to understand. Flat out not capable of understanding the right, and what it stands for - you are not capable of understanding anything from this side, ....you all assign you're spin to what ever was said, and, "Bingo", ....."so it was said, so it is the truth. " That is the Demo / Lib way, my friend. Current events bear that out. The sad part is that there are so many "believers" out there, people that are not willing to take even one step to find the real truth.....the truth about any Democrat......"we promise you everything.........oh, and the Republicans are just evil...they will take away you old folk's social security and not give everyone else -- everything!"

You are right, Clyde, we spend way too much on anything related to defense, space, etc. It all needs to go to the unemployed, un-insured, what ever. We all owe them our paychecks.

You are a liberal. You think Bush has fucked up everything. What a small minded agenda.

The Left Wing Political agenda is so enslaved to too many kook fucking agenda's to be credible...

Clyde, you are going to get your wish - the tax payers of this country are going to have to fund every liberal dream there ever was, we are going to get the Oracle Obama - the one that people think can solve everything FOR them. "Change....Change....Egnahc.....We just know that we need CHANGE........" The last tally I heard was over 800 Billion worth of "CHANGE".

Are you ready to pay for this, "CHANGE", Clyde? Are you willing to pay for the fucks that do not want to work, "why should I - get all this money for free.." ??

We are truly fucked.

Yes, you will get your health care for all: yes, you will get your education for all, etc. Yes, you will get your wish that the money (wasted, in the liberal / democrat eyes) spent in Defense of this country will now be BETTER spent on bullshit, cradle, government programs. After all, everyone is "entitled" to a house, a car, a 57" screen TV.......right, Clyde? If everyone does not have these things, then it's all GWB's fault and the Republican's are all fucked up......right?

Hillary is toast.

That leaves the Barrack "The magic" Hussain Obama....change....change....We will change everything...we will CHANGE everything to the good...........

OMG, we are so fucked......

And in the very near future, I'll be one of the many that point their finger at you, and the like, for the absolute down fall of this country...........

Obama has already said, he wants "to talk to our enemy's"...........

Sorry Clyde, you are young enough that will be able to see the end of this country......all because of the disease called, "Liberalism".

But your kind will die happy, right....??

Bill

My Reply

Bill,

Wow, I really don't know what to say about this. I guess in your view every damn thing that ever happened bad in this country was the fault of us evil liberals.

Rush said he carried water for candidates he didn't approve of prior to the last election or in other words he fucking lied to keep the Republicans in control. Fuck his ideals, fuck his agenda, fuck the country just as long as there is an R running the White House huh? Listen, I can respect someone who remains true to their ideals whether they be right left or in the middle. There are scores of conservatives that I respect even though I do not agree with their policies but Limbaugh has tried to turn the word "liberal" into some kind of goddamned badge of fucking shame and you bought it. And why? Because he views politics as some kind of fucking game. His side always has to win with that fat fuck no matter the consequences.

And I deeply apologize that I want every human being in this country to have health care, what a schlep I am huh. I know, I know, - I'm an evil fucking piece of liberal shit because I find it offensive that Cigna Healthcare CEO gets a 63 million dollar Christmas bonus while 44 million Americans can't afford health insurance based solely on how many medical procedures and treatments he was able to turn down to get the stock up a fucking point. I'm sure every one of those 44 million is nothing more than a lazy fuck who won't get up off their ass and get a job right?

Not to mention, it is all mine and the evil liberals fault that we are spending billions every month to protect a bunch of "rag heads" in Iraq while this country is going down the proverbial shitter right? Current projections are that the total will reach somewhere in the neighborhood of 3 trillion before it's all over but what the hell right, we brought freedom to an oppressed people who just happen to like to blow themselves up for fun and frivolity. I guess when your grandchildren are spending their hard earned tax dollars on interest payments to fucking China because of the occupation of Iraq, that will be my fault also right? Forget the fact that Saddam Hussein was no threat to this country and the weapons of mass destruction were as evident as a fart in a windstorm. At least George got his codpiece promenade on the USS Abraham Lincoln. Well worth the cost right?

Let me guess, I'm a piece of shit because I want to take some of Hallibuton's no-bid paycheck and inspect cargo coming into this country. And far be it from me to think it is bullshit that they have decided to move their corporate headquarters to Dubai on my tax dollar, why that's un-American right?

As far as not understanding the right, you are correct! What ever happened to the fiscally conservative mantra we heard about since Ronny Ray-gun? Oh that's right, 9/11 changed the world right?

What about personal responsibility, I guess that only applies to the Democrats. So what if George ordered domestic wiretapping prior to 9/11, if you have nothing to fear then what's the problem right? I bet it would be a different fucking tune if it had something to do with guns right?

As far as trying to slam me for getting my news from DU, coming from someone who gets his from Free Republic, I can only laugh my ass off. So, you keep running on fear and that Obama is some kind of Muslim trying to make this country into a new caliphate. Keep reminding yourself that because he doesn't wear a flag lapel pin he isn't patriotic enough. Or that only Republicans are true Christians and that Jesus didn't preach about feeding the poor or taking care of the sick.

And when you get ready too POINT YOUR FINGER AT ME you can thank me that you can because the arthritis medicine was affordable!

Clyde

*After sending my reply I finally figured out that it was United Healthcare's CEO not Cigna. What can I say I was a little pissed off at the time, besides how far off could I have been anyway? 1, 2 million at most?

Dear Senator
by Clyde
8:13 AM

Dear Senator,

I am writing to you over the recent decision by the government body in which you serve giving the telecommunications industry immunity from prosecution for the illegal wiretapping of American citizens.

Now you may have thought that the subject of this letter would be either in support or against the action taken by the Senate, but it is not. The fact that the Senate has decided to justify illegal action taken by the Bush Administration and their corporate donors has nothing to do with this letter.

This letter could be about how every election cycle, you and your colleagues promote your visions for the future in order to be re-elected. You speak of the rule of law and nations of men. Of justice for all and the will of the people. Of constitutional rights and the sense of fair play. Yet when it comes time to stand up to the corporate paymasters of your campaigns, you give quid pro quo. But that is not the purpose of this letter.

This letter could be about this country being a nation where the people are no longer secure in their constitutionally mandated freedoms because you and your colleagues saw fit to put the interests of multi-national corporations ahead of the interests of the American people, but it is not.

This letter could be about how the loss of liberty of the American people for the sake of safety for the American people is an affront to all those who have fought and died for this country, yet this is not its purpose.

No, this letter is about the inequality that this legislation promotes. The fact that the American people rarely have the advice of scores of lawyers like the telecommunication giants have, is hardly an excuse for criminal behavior. Yet, is it not fair that those who have been targeted by President Bush and the telecommunication industry's once illegal but now legal acts be granted the same legal reflection?

If the once illegal act now becomes a legal act for one entity, should not that same precedent be afforded those who were caught committing an illegal act by way of the original illegal act?

Would it not be prudent to give immunity to those who were caught by the Bush Administration and their corporate crony's illegal, now legal wiretapping web of surveillance?

Is it not fair to give the same consideration given to one criminal entity as given to another no matter the size of the campaign contribution? After all, it all spends the same.

So in conclusion Senator, I strongly urge that you either put forth or actively support legislation giving immunity to all those who have committed an illegal act from the inception of the illegal but now legal wiretapping program until February 12 2008. Any and all convictions should be overturned and accepted as legal acts just like they would if that person were a multi-national corporation. Any and all proceeds from the once illegal but now legal acts should be given back forthwith. Any and all civil proceedings against those who have committed once illegal but now legal acts should be denied just as if they were large corporate donors.

Sincerely and with respect, (I jest of course)
Clyde

P.S. FUCK YOU - YOU FUCKING FUCKERS!

Sometimes people just piss me off!
by Clyde
8:53 AM

To all those out there who claim they can't vote for Hillary Clinton because she did this or that they will never vote for Barack Obama because he said that. Or those, whose candidate wasn't given a fair shake and because of that, cannot support any other candidate. Blah buh blah buh fucking blah! Get over it; write dear fucking Abby if that is what it takes to make you feel better. But whatever you do, just shut the fuck up about it.

These are momentous times for this country and the Democratic Party. The glass ceiling of racism and sexism that has pervaded this country since its inception is about to be shattered like Ann-dy Coulter's dream of squeezing out offspring. Yet, that isn't good enough for some people. They have to bitch and moan because they didn't get their way and damn anyone else for not noticing it.

Listen, I have problems with both candidates myself. Hillary has the support of the DLC and anyone who knows me knows that I am no fan of those corporate bastards in any way. On the other hand, even though I caucused for Obama, I still have not heard him articulate his positions on several issues. Yet, keeping that in mind, my differences with the candidates are minute in comparison when it comes to the best course forward for my country.

Anyone who believes that change in Washington is going to happen overnight needs a CAT scan. The fact of the matter is that no president, no matter who they are, is going to be able to reverse the disaster known as George W. Bush quickly. It won't take weeks or months; it is going to take years to accomplish what needs to be done. And while I may or may not agree with all of the candidate's views, at least it brings the needle towards a more agreeable direction on the political compass.

Now, I know many believe that just because you vote for the lesser evil, you are still voting for evil. That may be true but I would like to ask this, if your house is on fire, do you tell the fireman to shut off the water because you don't like the way he uses the hose? Fuck no you don't, you ask him to try and save as much of your shit as he can. This election is no different, if the Democrats do not take the White House come November, I fear that will be the straw that breaks this democratic republic's back.

I am in no way implying that you not bring the issues important to you to the candidate. Have at it, that is what they are there for. But don't stand on a soapbox proclaiming your righteous indignation and trying to convince me that not voting for a candidate is better than voting for one you can live with. That's bullshit, you work with what you have until someone better comes along.

Oh I'm sure there are those who are going to think that I am a being good Nazi or woolen ruminant for what I am saying but oh the fuck well. I live in the real world! And in that world, sometimes you have to take the bad with the good.

This week in politics
by Clyde
9:04 AM

This week's top political story:
George W. Bush gave his last State of the union speech! Yes folks, in the fashion of a toddler on Nyquil, Bush fulfilled his constitutional duty and informed congress of his vision for the future. It what is best described as Britney Spears giving the keynote address at a MENSA convention, only without the shaved head and obligatory clam flash, Bush recited rhetoric of past SOTU speeches. With only two references to 9/11, Bush was still able to deliver enough applause lines to make congressional Republicans jump up and down faster than Star Jones at a Richard Simmons' Day Camp, mainly along the lines of tax cuts and the continuation of the occupation of Iraq.

Senator John McCain picked up the endorsement of a major rival this week in Rudy Giuliani after suspending his own bid for the White House. Giuliani's poor showing in Florida forced the former New York mayor to face the fact that one can only invoke 9/11 so often before sympathetic supporters begin jumping from rooftops in solidarity.

Radical fundamentalist cleric Mike Huckabee threw down the gauntlet against presidential rival Mitt Romney this week over fried chicken. It seems that Governor Romney is not a fan of chicken skin and Huckabee found that offensive. As someone who grew up 2 blocks from Jolly Time Popcorn, I find it offensive when some Arkansas hillbilly fries up furry little rodents in a popcorn popper but you don't hear me getting into a snit about it. Okay, maybe a little but I'm not running for president.

It seems the Barbiturate Behemoth Rush Limbaugh had a little trouble casting his vote in Florida's primary last week. I bet if they had dressed the voting booth up to look like a cub scout he would have known where to place his finger.

Now that the turd has emerged from the depths of the punchbowl, the corn shaped canoes you saw this week is another five House Republicans paddle their asses off for Lobby-land. The Republican Party is going down faster than Paris Hilton on a strange penis and all thanks to George W. Bush.

Finally, as you know I have been a supporter of John Edwards. To me he was the best candidate for the job but alas it was not to be. Now I could bitch and moan about how he was blacked listed by the media but that would be minute compared to the real reason he did not fare well in this campaign. The fact of the matter was that he was competing against two rock stars and his two Americas speech was not heard above the din of history in the making. Now I will gladly vote for whoever gets the nomination, race or gender to not fit into my politics. Obama or Clinton are miles ahead of anything the Republicans can put forth and with a majority in both houses a Democratic president has a better chance of achieving at least some of our goals. While many think that Edwards would be a great Attorney General, I believe that is a post he should only take for the interim. The next president will be nominating at least two Supreme Court justices and it is my sincerest wish that Edwards be one of them. That is a role where Edwards can have a positive and lasting impact upon the country for decades to come.
