Smoke and mirrors
by Clyde
8:06 AM

Once again, the right is wrong. This time it has to do with the Ann Coulter comments about John Edwards. During an interview on Good Morning America, Coulter supposedly tried to slam Bill Maher by saying that she "wished John Edwards were assassinated in a terrorist plot." Obviously, a reference to Maher's comments about Vice President's trip to Afghanistan where a suicide bomber blew himself up a mile from Cheney, right? Sarcasm aside, this makes no sense except in the eyes of the transtesticular anorexic drag queen and his minions.

The fact of the matter is that the whole premise of the quote is wrong. Bill Maher never said he wished Cheney had been blown up.

During a panel discussion with Joe Scarborough, Barney Frank and John Ridley the subject of Arianna Huffington's removal of postings that wished the bomber would have succeeded from her blog. Maher was simply trying to talk about how this was same as censorship.

He was not saying he agreed with the postings, only that people have the right to speak their minds. What he did say is "I have zero doubt that if Dick Cheney was not in power, people would not be dying needlessly tomorrow." Rational people would take that to mean that if Cheney were not Vice President, chances are that we would not find our military stuck in the quagmire called Iraq. But, the right wing is never rational and only hears what it wants to hear.

This is just another example of the right wing persecution complex that plagues the neo-conservatives and their ilk. To them, if you are not in total agreement with their views, you wish them harm. There is no middle ground and debate is a waste of time.

The fact of the matter is that the Republican Party cannot win in the war of ideas so therefore it has to divide the American people. It has to play on their fears and prejudices in order to be in power and that is exactly what Coulter is used for.

To the Republican Party, Coulter is the pit-bull with an infected testicle and is only to be let off its leash when bad news reaches a crescendo and those in power need to deflect the focus off their misdeeds. About every three months or so, Coulter is paraded around the alphabet networks because they know he will say something ignorant and the "Librul" media will run with it for at least a week.

So instead of getting mad and trying to write letters or emails complaining about what Coulter had to say, let it be like water on a duck's back and let it slide right off. Because folks, it's nothing more than smoke and mirrors, smoke and mirrors.

Masculinity at its finest
by Clyde
7:51 AM

Call me old fashioned but I just cannot believe how we men are slowly but surely being turned into women. This morning on the way to work, I heard an advertisement for men's blue jeans designed too lift and shape the buttocks. Now I don't know about you but I have a little problem with guys that are so into how they look they would even consider to buying a piece of clothing that lifts and shapes. It just isn't... MANLY!

When it comes to wardrobe, I only have three areas of interest that must be taken into consideration. How hard of a reach it is to the spot that itches, what level of swamp ass am I going to get and how well does it hold up to a gravy stain. That's it, all else is moot in my humble opinion. Whether my blue jeans show off the shape of my ass doesn't even come into the picture.

Another troubling aspect to this advertisement was that they touted that the blue jeans were designed by gay men and they named them "Rough Skins". Now I don't know what you think but to me, that is just wrong on so many levels. What next, shirts designed by lesbians with two clam shells embroidered on the pocket?

The fact of the matter is that men are becoming extinct. Men of old used to worry about the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition but now it seems that more and more men are trying to be the model on the cover of the swimsuit edition.

Men need to quit worrying about whether their hair is turning grey and get back to our core values like arguing about the infield fly rule. Men need to get over the fact that their hair is falling out and instead look to the bright side of using Lava soap as a body wash. (It cleans more than just the dirt from underneath your fingernails if you know what I mean.) Men need to quit fretting about their health and instead turn into our fathers and look at life's simple pleasures.

Flaunting the 5 second rule by picking up and eating the bacon off the floor without brushing it off. The security in knowing that everything tastes better if you put chili on it. The fashion statement of wearing black socks with Bermuda shorts. The ecstasy of curing chapped lips with a good brand of 30 weight. The satisfaction of blowing your nose on the lawn. The bond of earwax and a paper clip. The smell of singed hair and Kingsford charcoal. Scratching your nads in public and silently proclaiming to the world, "I AM MAN - SEE."

These are just a few of the things that makes us men and I bet you are wondering what in the hell that has to do with politics. Nothing, not one damn thing. Sometimes you just need to give it a break. After all, even a heroin junkie knows he has a couple of days before the DT's set in.

What can I say I hate him
by Clyde
8:15 AM

Let me be blunt, Joe Lieberman is a piece of shit and Harry Reid needs to let his balls descend and strip the fuck of his leadership positions. So we lose the majority in the senate, it isn't as if they are getting a whole lot of things done now are they? It would be better for the Democrats in 2008 if the Republicans were in charge of the senate. Because as we all know, they will do nothing but carry water for Chimpy McFuckNuts and people are just going to get more pissed than they already are.

Now there are many who believe we need to maintain the majority in the senate so we can control of the committees and have subpoena power. I say so what, we still have the House and Conyers, Waxman, Pelosi and Hoyer are getting the job done whereas the senate is stuck in gridlock.

In fact, now that Leahy and Schumer have issued a subpoena of Rove's political director Sara Taylor, it is the perfect time of getting the Lieberman monkey of our backs. Lieberman would no doubt formally join the Republicans and give them the majority and the subpoenas would be withdrawn. How do you think that will sit with the American people? With Bush at 28 percent and 68 percent thinking the country is headed in the wrong direction, this would in essence secure a strong majority in 2008.

Since the beginning of this legislative session, according to the Washington Post vote database, Lieberman has voted 25 times against key legislation supported by the Democrats. Not all of this legislation had to deal with Iraq either. That in of itself is grounds for Reid to kick Lieberman to the curb. But for some reason I think Reid will just sit back, doing his best Mr. Hand imitation while Lieberman continues to hold the Democrats hostage.

God how I hate Lieberman, the man pisses me off so bad that I get to twitching so hard that my sphincter looks like a bunny's nose gasping for air! While there may be other Democrats with a worse voting record than the talking nasal cavity, they at least are not tongue rasslin with Bush during the State of the fucking Union.

Lieberman's actions will only embolden others to do the same should the time come that they would be able to wield such a hold over the Party. Not that all Democrats should march in lock-step like the Republicans but there comes a time and a place where you need to put the good of the Party ahead of personal ambition. Lieberman chose the latter but we as a Party cannot allow that to become the norm.

And now that Lieberman has floated Bush's balloon about attacking Iran it is even more important that we...

What?

This week in the news 6-7-07
by Clyde
8:13 AM

It is rumored that John Ramsey and Beth Holloway Twitty are dating. Ramsey, long time considered involved with the murder of his daughter JonBenet, has denied any relationship with the missing Alabama teenager's mother. But the couple has been seen holding hands and kissing in public. Now, for many this may seem strange that the parents of two murder victims would get together like this but you must look to the positives. Without the high cost of college tuition, they can afford to go anywhere they want on their honeymoon.

This week brought about the conviction of Scooter Libby on perjury and obstruction of justice charges related to the outing of CIA operative Valerie Plame Wilson. The sentence of thirty months has the bulls on cell block D chanting, "We'll have Libby Libby Libby in our stable stable stable, we will fuck'im fuck'im fuck'im and wipe it on his navel navel navel."

It was another episode of "Penises on Parade" at the Republican presidential debate last Tuesday night and surprisingly, there was more Bush bashing than a John Holmes porn flick. The candidates often resorted to using harsh language in separating themselves from the administration on issues like Iraq, fiscal policy and immigration. However, the candidates softened their rhetoric when it came to the PresiDunce's policies of fighting the War on Terror and Iran, which both poll well with the conservative base. Despite their quandary over Bush, the candidates each tried to position themselves as being the strongest on national security and there was no better example than when the question of the use of nuclear weapons was brought up. The candidates strutted around the stage trying to be macho and there could not have been more phalluses fondled if it were a Michael Jackson slumber party.

Former Tennessee senator Fred Thompson has announced his plans for a possible run for the presidency. Widely considered as the candidate with the best chances at getting the nomination, Thompson does pose a serious campaign problem for the Republican Party. As a former trial lawyer and Hollywood actor, Thompson's candidacy will force the Republicans to forgo two of the biggest weapons in their arsenal to use against the Democrats over the past six election cycles. There is only the hope that they can morph Thompson into the Ronald Reagan incarnate. But at this time, there is only speculation on Thompson's wife Jeri's oral abilities as compared to Nancy's.

Why is Louisiana Representative William Jefferson still in congress? Many people are asking that question after Jefferson was indicted on bribery and perjury charges earlier this week. After twelve years of corruption at the hands of the Republicans, the Democrats need to hold themselves to a higher standard and kick this bum out onto the street. When it comes to the people's House, the Democrats cannot allow themselves to be viewed as soft on corruption. It does not matter that Jefferson has not been convicted, there was enough evidence to get indictments and that should be enough. Screw the investigation, call the vote and send him packing!
