The Real "Struggle Against Extremism"
by Wally
1:31 PM

How do you define incompetence? Well one way is to think that by no longer calling it the "war on terror" in favor of the "global struggle against extremism" is somehow going to magically increase support for a failed foreign policy both at home and abroad. It has been crystal clear for quite some time that Bunnypants and his administration does not have a clue on how to handle the job of running a nation but the support he receives from the Republican Party is enough to make a person wish for a bout of projectile vomiting just to ease the pain.

It could be argued that finally the Republican Party has figured out that you cannot promote peace by the point of a spear but that argument does not pass the smell test. You see, the Republicans have mastered the art of breaking down a message to a ten second sound bite but when it comes to acting upon that message they go completely off the reservation. Just look at what has been said and done over the course of the last decade and it shows that they want you to pay attention to what is said and ignore what is done.

In the campaign for his first term we were told that George Dubya was a uniter not a divider but after five years in office the American public is more polarized than ever before.

Like Moses on the mountaintop Bush proclaimed that he would have transparency in government, but when it came time to fess up and show who attended the secret energy meetings with Cheney, the White House claimed executive privilege.

States rights was the mantra of the Republican Party for years but when it came time for the Florida recount in 2000, the Republicans ran crying to the Supreme Court faster than Michael Jackson runs towards a Boy's Club.

During the height of the Lewinsky scandal all we heard was how no one was above the law but yet when it is a Republican in the White House you have to be convicted before anything can be said or done about it.

Everyone applauded Shrub when he made the remark that he wanted Osama bin Laden dead or alive, but almost four years later we are supposed to believe that a six foot Arab with a dialysis machine strapped to his back still cannot be found walking around in a desert.

The Republicans love to talk about how much they support the military especially when they are sending them off to war but when it is time to pay the veterans back for their sacrifice, the neo-cons instead decide to under fund the VA.

The majority of the tax cuts were supposed to go to the bottom two-thirds on the socio-economic ladder but it was the top one percent who really benefited.

These few examples are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain" mentality of the Republican Party of today and it is only when enough people get tired of being treated like mushrooms that it will stop.

The Republican Party is now wholly dominated by right wing extremists and they are hell bent on creating a two class economic system and single Party rule over the government. They have dedicated themselves to creating a Christian nation where all other faiths are no longer welcome. They want to spread our version of democracy to the world while at the same time they are choking the life out of the freedoms that every American has enjoyed since the inception of the founding father's grand experiment.

So in essence the problem with the "global war on extremism" is that it is being fought by radical extremists to begin with. It is doomed to failure and our nation's future has never been as bleak as it is now and the only way to change is to get rid of these ideologues. It is time for the American sheeple to stand up and say "no more" to these right wing wackos.

Lying hypocritical treasonous bastards!
by Wally
1:30 PM

As the evidence mounts against Karl Rove you would think that even the most die-hard Republicans would begin to voice reservations about his guilt. Yet like Rush Limbaugh and an OxyContin label, the morons over at Free Republic have committed the RNC talking points to memory and continue to defend the traitors that currently occupy the west wing of the White House. It is bad enough that they denigrate anyone who does not have an "R" behind their name and even some that do if they walk off the neo-con reservation, but to put their loyalty to Party over the country's national security is beyond the pale.

Freepers love to chant the mantra that Republicans are stronger than Democrats on national defense issues. But by making excuse after excuse for Turd Blossom, they have shown that they do not care that a valuable covert asset has been irreparably compromised, further endangering the safety of the American people.

When Karl Rove decided to leak the name of Joe Wilson's wife he compromised more than just one CIA operative, he compromised several. The CIA has confirmed that the consulting firm of Brewster Jennings Associates was indeed a CIA front company and now that this has been revealed, every operative connected with this firm in any way has been exposed to the enemies of the United States and all because Rove didn't like the fact that the lie for war was being disputed. But the hypocrites over in Freeperland only care that Wilson worked for the Kerry campaign and that his wife may have influenced the CIA into sending him to Niger. They could care less that our security was put into jeopardy for purely partisan politics, instead they care more that they get to excoriate another human being just because he does not believe the same way they do.

These people, and I used that term very loosely, are nothing more than pond scum and I detest their very existence. The fact that they would hold their ideology over what is best for the country is wholly un-American and if they want to live in a country that is imperially ruled then they need to just get the fuck out because that is not America.

This country was founded upon liberal ideals whether they wish to acknowledge that fact or not. The founding fathers did not intend for the government to have the ability to stifle dissent but instead decided it was more important to protect the ability for the common man to dissent if that is what he wishes to do. To smear the name and patriotic service of life long public servants is now the name of the game in politics and it was people like the Freepers who have made it this way. To them the truth only matters when it is beneficial to their cause, otherwise they are willing to lie, cheat, and steal to further advance their twisted ideology.

Admittedly the truth has never been a high priority for the Republican Party, but this administration uses the lie as its first option on a consistent basis and the Freepers love them for it. Freepers are more than happy to swallow the ejaculate given to Simple Scotty McClellan by Jeff Gannon/Guckert's soft balls over real journalism from the likes of Helen Thomas.

Freepers are more than willing to perpetuate the lie that Iraq was part of the attacks on 9/11 even though Bush himself said Hussein was not involved. Freepers are more than willing to hold a Democratic president to a higher standard over a blow job than a Republican lying the nation into a war that did not need to be fought. How ironic it is that the Iraqi people were safer under the thumb of the brutal dictator Saddam Hussein than they are now that we "liberated" them.

Freepers are constantly espousing about how great things are going in Iraq even though more innocent men, women and children have been slaughtered by suicide bombers in the last two years than the victims of Hussein’s totalitarian regime. Our men and women in uniform are paying the price for the Freepers desire for perpetual war and it must stop. These inept lying, hypocritical bastards need to get off their ass and go fight the war that they so desperately wanted instead of watching it like armchair quarterbacks and just maybe when they receive their first taste of battle they would begin to see the error of their ways, but I doubt it.

Rove Rage
by Wally
1:30 PM

Now that the main stream media has finally allowed their testicles to descend, our nation is finally getting a glimpse of just how corrupt the Bush administration really is. But one must wonder why the big change in attitude by the White House press corps? For the last five years this group has been afraid to do a one cheek sneak because it might offend the sensitive nasal passages of a senior administration official, but now all of a sudden they are willing to make simple Scotty hem and haw his way through the press briefings.

Could it be that they finally have realized that they have been used as a propaganda tool? No, because they are allowing RNC Chairman Ken Mehlman and the rest of the closet queens put forth the lame excuse that just because Rove did not specifically name her when he talked to Time's Matt Cooper that somehow this absolves him of a criminal act. The fact that this claim comes from only one email out of who knows how many, has been lost on these intrepid truth seekers and shows their willingness to continue keeping close ties to the White House.

The Republican assertion that this scandal is nothing more than a partisan political attack on Karl Rove and the White House is actively being promoted by many of the major news organizations. And these paragons of journalistic virtue are virtually unwilling to refute this claim, and the few that do, refuse to ask the follow up questions that would shed light on the fact that Rove has committed an act of treason. So the change cannot be attributed to a sense of need to get back to the traditional role of the fourth estate.

By allowing the attack on the character of Ambassador Wilson without reporting the fact that everything that he said was true shows that the mainstream media has not gotten completely over its cowardice. But if the events of the last few days are any indication of things to come, we should all be in for a very entertaining next few weeks. The change in the attitude towards the White House was not born from a want to get to the truth but more of self preservation because one of their own is now behind bars because of Rove and his friends.

There is one constant in history and that is that the truth will eventually come out and if the members of the press continue to play patty-cake with this White House they are setting themselves up for a fall and they now know it. No longer will they be as willing to take what is said at face value and now it just may be that the crimes that have been committed by Bush and his mob will finally be exposed. The fact is that a lot of reporters are extremely upset over the events that have taken place by Karl Rove and it is coming up to payback time. And Miller going to prison was the final straw on the camel's back and it could very well be that the media is mad as hell and is not going to take it anymore.

Judy Judy Judy

There are many who believe that Judith Miller should not go to jail because she is protecting a confidential source. I am not one of those people and furthermore I believe that she should not only go to jail for refusing to surrender the name but that she should also be prosecuted for nothing less than as an accessory after the fact for aiding and abetting a traitor. Robert Novak should also rot in jail for his crime but I believe that Miller and Cooper are as guilty if not worse so because of their refusal to give up Karl Rove over the Valerie Plame outing.

Do not get me wrong, I believe that a reporter has the right to protect a source under the current shield laws, but this case is different in the fact that they were not protecting a source that was witness to the crime and wished to make it right by society. No, these reporters were protecting a traitor to our nation and that is unforgivable.

Let us not forget that this woman not only supported the invasion of Iraq but also was one of the main cheerleaders because she wanted to profit from a book of lies about Saddam Hussein and weapons of mass destruction. Judith Miller is nothing more than an Armstrong Williams wannabe and she championed the case to go to war because she had an impeccable source, Ahmad Chalabi.

While it is true that she never wrote about Valerie Plame herself, she was involved in the case by association. The shield law that allows a reporter the right to refuse to divulge the identity of an anonymous source is one that was intended to serve the public good by conveying a sense of confidentiality for the informant. What Miller is guilty of is protecting a source that was hell bent on seeking retribution on Ambassador Joseph Wilson, who had truthfully contradicted the claim that Hussein was trying to obtain yellowcake uranium from the country of Niger. In other words, she was protecting the criminal from the whistleblower and that is directly opposite of the intention of the law.

The Republicans are trying to spin this web of treason as something that is not all that important by claiming that Valerie Plame was not really that covert of an agent and that anyone could have found out her identity if they dug deep enough. Quite frankly I do not care if she was in deep cover or not, it is my opinion that anyone who works at the CIA from the lowly janitor up to the Deputy Director should remain nameless because of possible coercion by our enemies. One never knows where an enemy may be able to obtain useful information and therefore it is imperative that all CIA employees maintain anonymity and any revelation of the identity of that employee be met with the harshest measure of prosecution and implementation of sentence.

Many believe that by prosecuting Miller for her role sets a bad precedent and that we have now begun down a slippery slope of government control over the media. I agree that we are headed down that slippery slope but for a different reason. By allowing the improper use of the shield law it will only serve to embolden future use by political adversaries against each other in order to accomplish the goals of their political ideology.

You may wonder why I have singled out Miller instead of also including Cooper and the reason is very simple. As with any criminal investigation the first one who talks gets the ability to negotiate with the prosecutor and this one is no different. Novak does not deserve any exemption from prosecution because he is the guilty party who knowingly committed the crime. And being that we have heard Presidunce Bush many times reiterate that we are a nation at war it is only reasonable that Novak, Miller and Rove should face no less than life imprisonment or at most be executed for their crime of treason during a time of war.
