Sometimes people just piss me off!

To all those out there who claim they can't vote for Hillary Clinton because she did this or that they will never vote for Barack Obama because he said that. Or those, whose candidate wasn't given a fair shake and because of that, cannot support any other candidate. Blah buh blah buh fucking blah! Get over it; write dear fucking Abby if that is what it takes to make you feel better. But whatever you do, just shut the fuck up about it.

These are momentous times for this country and the Democratic Party. The glass ceiling of racism and sexism that has pervaded this country since its inception is about to be shattered like Ann-dy Coulter's dream of squeezing out offspring. Yet, that isn't good enough for some people. They have to bitch and moan because they didn't get their way and damn anyone else for not noticing it.

Listen, I have problems with both candidates myself. Hillary has the support of the DLC and anyone who knows me knows that I am no fan of those corporate bastards in any way. On the other hand, even though I caucused for Obama, I still have not heard him articulate his positions on several issues. Yet, keeping that in mind, my differences with the candidates are minute in comparison when it comes to the best course forward for my country.

Anyone who believes that change in Washington is going to happen overnight needs a CAT scan. The fact of the matter is that no president, no matter who they are, is going to be able to reverse the disaster known as George W. Bush quickly. It won't take weeks or months; it is going to take years to accomplish what needs to be done. And while I may or may not agree with all of the candidate's views, at least it brings the needle towards a more agreeable direction on the political compass.

Now, I know many believe that just because you vote for the lesser evil, you are still voting for evil. That may be true but I would like to ask this, if your house is on fire, do you tell the fireman to shut off the water because you don't like the way he uses the hose? Fuck no you don't, you ask him to try and save as much of your shit as he can. This election is no different, if the Democrats do not take the White House come November, I fear that will be the straw that breaks this democratic republic's back.

I am in no way implying that you not bring the issues important to you to the candidate. Have at it, that is what they are there for. But don't stand on a soapbox proclaiming your righteous indignation and trying to convince me that not voting for a candidate is better than voting for one you can live with. That's bullshit, you work with what you have until someone better comes along.

Oh I'm sure there are those who are going to think that I am a being good Nazi or woolen ruminant for what I am saying but oh the fuck well. I live in the real world! And in that world, sometimes you have to take the bad with the good.

I hear you Clyde, and couldn't agree more.

Like I told the Edwards supporter at the caucus on Tuesday - Dude, he's gone, get over it. I liked Edwards too, just like I wanted the Bears to win the Super Bowl too, but when they didn't even make the playoffs, I didn't keep talking about how great they were and how I'm still rooting for them in the big game.

When he threw out some crap about "doing it on principle" all I could do was laugh at him. Fat lot of good "principle" will do us if we don't pick the best choice for President. Correction: the best "available" choice.

If I'm dying of thirst and I only have the choice of PBR or Hamms, I'm not going to turn them down and go on suffering because there's no Guinness available. (I'll take whichever one is colder, of course.)

What if Edwards never joined the race at all? Would these people still be holding his signs and cheering for him? Or would they be pulling for Hillary or Barack or ....?

You're right Clyde. These people piss me off too!

I admit it must be nice not even needing to think (though I'm reasonable sure you do, at least a little) and just call volunteers to drive you down where you just click, or push or whatever Ds down the line. America isn't even a society any longer, their just an audience to be exploited like toothpaste or laundry soap 'demographics'. But I think it's clear that we long ago lost control of our government, certainly as far back as Vietnam but probably longer. And all the good consumers and audience can bury what the supposed sacred Constitution says our duty is. "No more 9th or 10th amendment? so what, we've lived without them for so long I forget what they even are." is the attitude of the slackers that call themselves good citizens. But not according to numerous instructions about loss of control of our government by the sainted, but largely ignored, 'founders'. You're the ones wasting your votes, with a standard argument that sounds logical but falls apart under the scrutiny of the Constitution and the extensive instructions and thoughts of the founders of a now dead Constitution. Any YOU'RE pissed off? Gotta lotta nerve you do.
