In the past I have usually reserved my barbs for the Republicans but I cannot go any longer without slamming of few of our intrepid Democratic congress critters.
What in the fuck were Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff thinking when they decided to push this Armenian Genocide Resolution? As if we do not have enough trouble with our allies because of the Chief Chimp in Charge, we have to tweak the nose of an ally who is and has been for decades just salivating over the idea of invading the Kurdish controls areas of Iraq! This is the height of irresponsibility, not for condemning genocide but for condemning a genocide that happened a hundred fucking years ago! What's next, recognizing the insincerity of the Spanish Inquisition or maybe denouncing imperialist intentions of the Mongolian Hordes? This is just fucking ignorant!
First off, those who were affected by this atrocity, and it is an atrocity, have only slightly fewer wrinkles than Kay Bailey Hutchinson after a marathon hot tubbing at Tom Delay's house. Second, any man who took part in this crime is more concerned with remembering what it was like too have a dick that didn't leak like a dribble glass than any "non-binding" resolution coming from this congress. And lastly, what constituent base are they trying to appease, Eric Bogosian fans? It isn't like there is a large section of the population that considers Babakanoosh, soul food. According to the 2000 census, there are 385,488 Americans of Armenian descent in this country. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Armenians in any way, I'm sure they are wonderful people but come on, as a voting block they're not Cubans.
Listen, this resolution has about as much of a positive effect as a tampon would in giving Ann-Dee Coulter a case of Toxic Shock. It only serves to piss off Turkey, you know, the country that has wanted to invade the Kurdish north almost as long a Darth Cheney.
I've heard the argument that if we piss them off enough they will deny us rights to supply the occupation through their country. But does anyone believe that the "Decider Guy" will somehow come to the realization that we are stuck in a quagmire and begin pulling troops out? That argument makes about as much sense as asking Bill O'Reilly and Don Imus to debate race relations in front of the NAACP.
Supposedly Pelosi is beginning to back off pushing this shit but she has yet to commit to it. Why? Is she afraid that it may appear that we are bending over for the Turks? The fact of the matter is that if this would never have come up, we would not be in the position of being bent over. It is one thing to get into a situation because of your actions and have to live with unexpected consequences but to go into it knowing those consequences is another thing altogether. Think of it this way, Larry Craig knew he was taking a chance went he went in search of some urine cake in Minneapolis but do you think he would have still done it had he known that he was going to bent over by Johnny Law?
Okay, so I still made fun of Republicans, what can I say, I'm addicted!
