I'm still pissed by Clyde 7:51 AM Normally when the Democrats pull some ignorant bullshit, I get mad and then in a couple of days I mellow out and go on with the business at hand. This week however is something new for me, because I cannot get over how the Democrats capitulated to Herr Bush! I mean, here we have the Republicans running from the Bush legacy like it was a marriage vow, but the Democrats are more worried that the Republicans will paint them as not supporting the troops. Bite me! That is a bullshit excuse and they know it. No matter what they say, the Democrats now own this war, lock stock and barrel. Instead of standing up to Bush and fulfilling the mandate given to them in November, the Democrats got on their collective knees and Lewinsky'd Bush like Marilyn Chambers at a Viagra convention. The "we don't have enough votes to override the veto" and "we must give the troops the tools they need" are excuses that rank almost as high as the Alzheimer's outbreak at the Department of Justice. The Democrats had a chance to paint the Republicans into a corner and they blew it. Now I may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but it doesn't take a fucking rocket scientist to play the game of politics. The debate over an issue is not won with truth and fact based arguments anymore, it's won by who can cut their opposition's throat first. And the Democrats missed an opportunity to cut the Republican talking points apart like a tabby during a Bill Frist mid-term. The Democrats should be saying that if funding the troops is so important to Bush, why doesn't he take some of the money away from his buddies in the Defense industry. Here he is, spending BILLIONS on Star Wars systems for some future conflict but that money is so sacrosanct that it cannot be dipped into too fight the current conflict? That's a lot like Jerry Cooney taking it easy during the Ali fight so he could save his strength to fight Frazier? The Democrats should be saying that if funding the troops is so important, then why haven't they been funded for the last four fucking years? Why was it so important to give in to Bush's demands? So the troops can continue to not have enough body armor or up-armored HUMVEES? It's a fucking disgrace! I have no desire to leave the Democratic Party but that doesn't mean that I will keep silent when they do shit wrong either. If anything, I will be more outspoken when they fuck up. Because these are hard economic times I thought I would end this column with a job posting I saw. 	Methinks you have been in denial Clyde. And I don't mean that river in Egypt either. Like so many DemocRATS you've been telling yourself that the football sized lump under your arm is 'nothing serious' and waiting for it to go away. I know this is painful for you but welcome to ugly reality. This is not a one time fuck up, this is todays Democratic party, and expect nothing but more of the same. What is best for the country is not even on their radar screens. Joe suckface is one of the few honest ones out there. To quote another Democrat in name only, "I feel your pain Clyde". That lump is a malignant tumor, and it's killing you. It's gotta come out, and it's going to hurt. Wait till they present you with their 'candidate' for President.
