If It Walks Like A Duck - Part V

Does anyone doubt that if 9/11 had happened during the Clinton presidency that the people in power would have been brought up on charges? You bet your sweet ass they would, Clinton and his cabinet would have been crucified by the right wing shills at Fox News, CNN, MSNBC and all of the alphabet networks. It would have been front page news on every newspaper in the country from 9/12/01 until now, and you would need a German to English dictionary in order to listen to talk radio.
I can see it now; Ann Coulter would have his balls in such a twist it would take years of rearranging them to get them comfortably nestled back into his jock strap. Sean Hannity would have to be reminded by Alan Colmes not to speak German when he calls for an Americanized version of "Kristallnacht." Bill O'Reilly would have a permanent tongue cramp touting his new book "9/11, what about the children and 1001 ways to use a falafel." And no family of four would be safe in a Denny's parking lot because of Rush Limbaugh trying to score a dime bag.
To these models of American journalism and political punditry, the definition of "moral outrage" is reserved for semen stained blue dresses and what the definition of "is" is. To them it was worth spending over $70 million dollars in an effort to hold a President accountable because of a few bouts of consensual oral gratification in the Oval Office because "no one is above the law." But it would be a "witch hunt" to even consider thinking about investigating whether key government officials performed their sworn duty properly, if at all, when it comes to the murder of almost three thousand innocent people.
Those in charge must have their feet held to the fire, but unfortunately they have been insulated so well by a corrupt congress, inept opposition party and willingly complacent media, that they will never face the charges that should, in my opinion, be brought against them. So they should be indicted through public opinion and here is the short list that I believe should be brought to justice.
Chief of Staff Andrew Card
Mr. Card should be indicted on 1 count of "Child Endangerment" for every child in the school that Bush attended on the morning of 9/11. As Chief of Staff, Card could have forced the issue that Bush needed to leave the Booker Elementary school because as President, Bush would naturally be a prime target during an attack on our country and thereby risk the safety of all the children in the school. Instead he decided it was better to sit on his hands and allow a befuddled head of state sit in a classroom listening to a story about a pet goat.
Attorney General John Ashcroft
Attorney General John Ashcroft should be indicted with 2,752 counts of "Negligent Homicide" which is defined as the killing of another person through gross negligence or without malice. When Ashcroft refused to recognize the fact of dealing with an ever increasing threat from terrorism, in favor of focusing on pornography and gun rights, he was negligent in performing his sworn duties. He should also be indicted on 1 count each of "Perjury" because he lied before congress when he stated that counterterrorism was a top priority for the department of Justice and then purposely kept it off the list of 7 goals for the department the next day. And "Dereliction of Duty" for not heeding the warnings from lower level staff members who did recognize the need for increased security and failing to inform the country of the threats that forced him to forego commercial airlines in favor of a more secure government means of travel.
National Security Advisor Dr. Condoleeza Rice
Dr. Rice deserves to be indicted for 2,752 counts of "Involuntary Manslaughter" which is defined as someone who was killed as a result of the person's act was by its nature dangerous to human life or was done with reckless disregard for human life. Her actions prior to 9/11 are the classic example of this crime because she routinely ignored warnings from Richard Clarke and the CIA about terrorism threats and she willfully refused to conduct meetings and establish a plan in which to deal with these threats. She should also be indicted on 2,752 counts of "Negligent Homicide" because she failed to adequately convince the President to deal with an ever increasing threat from Osama bin Laden during the 8/6/01 Presidential Daily Brief title "Bin Laden determined to strike in the US" and then did call for a "Deputies" meeting on terrorism until 9/10/01. Instead she focused most of her attention to a Ballistic Missile Defense Shield. In addition to those indictments there should be 2 counts of "Perjury" leveled against her for lying to the 9/11 Commission about the importance of the August 6 PDB and her willful disregard to uphold the oath she swore because the definition of perjury is not only lying while under oath but also failure to uphold the responsibilities her oath required. And 1 count of "Dereliction of Duty" because instead of convincing the President that he needed to act on the threat of terrorism she decided it was more important to go along with a presidential agenda that was contrary to the real threats the nation faced.
Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld
As a signatory to the Project for a New American Century document there is more than enough evidence to indict Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld with 2,752 counts of "Involuntary Manslaughter". The advocating a "new Pearl Harbor" as a precursor to launch an illegal invasion to seize energy reserves is definitely a premeditated act which is one of the prime ingredients needed to indict someone with a charge of "Murder in the first degree" but because he did actually kill anyone himself, that charge cannot be levied against him. And neither can the charge of "Murder in the second degree" because there was no malice involved. He should also be charged with 1 count of "Dereliction of Duty" for not taking the proper steps on 9/11 to insure the protection of the people in the WTC and the Pentagon. In addition to those indictments I must add one that really the worst an American citizen can commit and that is "Conspiracy to commit an act of terrorism." In his desire to become the chief architect of a modern military it is my opinion that Rumsfeld and an accomplice thwarted efforts to stop the attacks on 9/11. being the head of the department of Defense, Rumsfeld was privy to all of the intelligence data coming from all corners of the world and I believe that he was willing to allow an attack take place in order to achieve his goals.
Vice President Richard Cheney
Vice President Cheney was really the man in charge on 9/11 and it is my opinion that this man should be indicted on 2,752 counts of "Murder in the first degree" because of his involvement with the PNAC document and the fact that although he was head of the "Terrorism Task Force" he did not have a single meeting to discuss the threats against our country. He did have several meetings of the "Energy Task Force" and it was reveled that he had maps of all Iraqi oil fields. The close working relationship that he had with the bin Laden and Saudi royal families from his tenure as CEO of Halliburton Corporation was the perfect vehicle in which he would have been able to achieve the goals set forth in the PNAC document. By effectively keeping the President out of Washington on that day was the perfect opportunity for Cheney to control the government in a way that would best suit his needs to affect the "new Pearl Harbor" he needed to invade a country who had been a long time adversary of the United States. Along with his accomplice Donald Rumsfeld in a "Conspiracy to commit an act of terrorism" Cheney was able to slow down the government enough to make the event heinous enough to bring the American people to a mindset of revenge.
President George W. Bush
President George W. Bush should be charged with what I consider the most heinous crime of them all, the crime of "COWARDICE." It is apparent by his actions that Bush was not up to the job of Commander in Chief on 9/11. Instead of taking command of the situation when he was first informed that an unknown enemy had attacked the United States, he decided that it was more important to sit in a classroom and listen to a story told to him by a roomful of schoolchildren. Instead of returning immediately returning to Washington and taking charge of the government response in emergency medical aid and defense of the nation, he flew all over hell's half acre and abdicated his authority to underlings. These actions also qualify him for the charge of "Dereliction of Duty" and "Perjury" for failure to live up to the requirements in the oath he swore. "Accessory after the fact" is another charge that could be levied against him because of his failure to hold his own Cabinet officials accountable for their actions, in favor of promotion for those who failed this country.
If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, then damn it, it is a duck and that duck doesn't fly.
For those who wish to get a much more detailed description of the events of 9/11, I suggest you go to this website that contains a comprehensive time line and is by far the best on the net.
