YES WE DID!!!!!!!
posted by Wally
10:06 PM

We'll post more later. Now is time to CELEBRATE!!!!

After all, what's more important to celebrate than Sarah winning second in the beauty contest again?

You know who would have loved this? Clyde. He would have REALLY loved this.

It's a bittersweet victory for us at dubyaD40.com, because this sonofabitch isn't here to celebrate with us. So when you're having a beer or 8, or a shot or 4, or the cocktail of your choice or 11 (or all of the above). Have one more for Clyde. We are. He fought for this, and now we can truly say, mission accomplished. Thank you Clyde. Thank you everyone who volunteered. Everyone who worked for this. Everyone who VOTED!!!

Thank you all! YES WE CAN AND YES WE DID!!!

Hey Wally, Dookie AND Clyde,

I'm so excited to be one of the first ones to post here tonight!

And was so excited to be part of the first battleground state to go for Obama tonight - Pennsylvania!!!

Your site is the first one I pulled up, just after watching Obama's acceptance speech. Had to see what you had posted. My hubby, another fan of yours, just said, so I guess they're going to have to change the name of their website! Guess so, huh?!?!? Any ideas??? :-D

I so wish I was with you all in your town, to celebrate with you, high five, and toast a drink or two (or three...) Maybe someday. And give a big hug of condolence for Kenny.

A HUGE, collective sigh of relief for us all I'm sure. I drove a a bit ago to my studio to pick up a bottle of champagne (didn't want to jinx things) around 11pm, that's been sitting there for months, and gave my 17 and 12 yr old a small glass, we ALL high fived. Even Ivy, at 9, now understands the electoral map now. And my 4 yr old is also pretty excited, as he's been spotting Obama bumper stickers, and photos in the paper, for months now!

We are going to be OK now. Obama for 8 years!!! This country woke up. Grew up. Got active. Finally. We've got a blessed man leading us. God protect him, and us. Amen.

Thank you guys, for hanging in there for the long haul. You've definitely played a part in this win! Give yourselves a well deserved pat on the back!

Love and Peace,

Mary
in Pittsburgh

Here's to Clyde, with all his dedication and determination. I thought often times today how Clyde is probably enjoying a beer or two with Toot, and maybe Joe's mother-in-law, watching what's happening here on earth. And I was wishing they could've been here with their loved ones to share the joy in mortal form. I hope you all at dubyad40 keep the site up for the rest of us who depend on you for THE BEST place to get information. You have always seemed to be ahead of the rest. Yes.We.Can!

Dammit, Clyde, (and Wally and Dookie)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've spent me some time on the clock on the air, but never anything like tonight.

Tempted by all around me to say "Yes, we did," I waited till precisely the 10 o'clock hour, Central Time, to rip the bag of tortillas and dive into the salsa.

That's when it happened, Clyde. But you knew that. That's why North Carolina, home of vinegar barbecue and NASCAR, waited, waited, waited and Junior Johnson said he was castin' it, doin' it, votin' in for Obama.

Don' chu DARE try to hide from us, Clyde! We can spot a fix from a mile out!

I've never spent so long behind a mic, nor got so thoroughly plowed. Tomorrow's gonna hurt, brothers, an' it's already here.

But it hurts to good to hurt bad!

We done jus' bought America to ONE fightin' chance.

Let's make the best of it!

Oh my! Wally is going to be one hurtin' puppy today. Somewhere about 2AM (ish), he went outside and screamed at the top of his lungs to the world: "all you republicans can kiss my hairy ass". Those who know him knows how his voice carries.

Wally and I went out canvassing in Missouri yesterday with our friends who came in from Denver. My nerves started to calm when every single person that answered their door told us they had voted and 99% of them had voted for Obama. I appreciated the hugs from people that thanked us for what we were doing.

Last night we texted/e-mailed people around the world who were up all night completely anxious that the election was going to stolen again. They were all planning on being too hung over to go to work today.

I'm the type of person who always looks to the future and I am so looking forward to Obama setting a positive direction for this country.

And Clyde? His nephew was smart enough to paste an Obama bumper sticker on his casket right as his physical state was laid to rest. Kenny would have laughed his ass off.

Well, sissy that I am, I dissolved into sobs around 10:00 or so. Tears of joy, tears of relief, bittersweet tears for those who couldn't be here to celebrate. Florida went for Obama and my folks were part of that - I'm so proud of them! My 94 year old grandmother here in MN even voted for Obama - way to go grandma! And to everyone at dubyad40.com - thanks for doing what you do! You've let me vent my anxieties and frustrations and without that I would have been even more of a mess last night.

One more note - I'm really, really, really sorry that a bunch of jackasses here in Minnesota re-elected Michelle Bachmann. Oy. Well, at least she and Norm are part of the minority. And we have to get our humor from somewhere - right?!

Over the weekend Gail and I had Veggie Burritos in Kenny's honour. I had many Happy Goblins during our marathon broadcast. Part of my hangover goes to you mate.

We have seen history made. Now the real work begins.

Cheers Big Ears!
