Equality for all? posted by Clyde 4:22 AM Richest Americans See Their Income Share Grow In a new sign of increasing inequality in the U.S., the richest 1% of Americans in 2006 garnered the highest share of the nation's adjusted gross income for two decades, and possibly the highest since 1929, according to Internal Revenue Service data. Meanwhile, the average tax rate of the wealthiest 1% fell to its lowest level in at least 18 years. The group's share of the tax burden has risen, though not as quickly as its share of income. The figures are from the IRS's income-statistics division and were posted on the agency's Web site last week. The 2006 data are the most recent available. The figures about the relative income and tax rates of the wealthiest Americans come as the presumptive presidential candidates are in a debate about taxes. Congress and the next president will have to decide whether to extend several Bush-era tax cuts, including the 2003 reduction in tax rates on capital gains and dividends. It's a pretty little scenario on paper, but relies on the wealthy to have a soul. Banks are failing and people are losing jobs, but the CEOs of said banks are taking home record pay. 	Has everyone forgotten the biggest fucking the once middle class ever took. Thing called NAFTA? You can even rant about it being Republicans because it was an undercover Republican that did it, through bribery, threats and coercion and as usual the false Democratic party (I wanna sue em for fraud!) went along happily mouthing the Republicans lines for them, oh wonderful, the world economy, we won't have to get dirty and make anything anymore, we'll all be part of something they invented the attractive name of a "service economy". 	Us and our kids are the slaves of the wealthy. Every aspect of our society have become slaves. There is not much difference between the republicans and the democrats. Hell, Bush hasn't been impeached has he? We still have the outed pervs in office acting RESPECTFUL.Our "news" is just a publicity machine for the way overpaid celebrities that we idolize like good little sheep.Of course, we have no universal healthcare, no free college, beautiful foreclosed homes are rotting while our homeless suffer. The captains of industry are paid more in one years bonuses than the wages of a small town. While we keep them afloat with billions in financial rescues that should go to the poor and and all of the regular citizens who pay for it. Income taxes are collected illegally(the 19th Amendment states that the government has no right to levy an income tax on "it's" citizens.) Don't pay and you go to jail for a long time. Unless you're a "non-profit". Those who literally rape the people and have immunity. Why can't Americans see that it is time to start over? To actually attempt justice rather than obey the crooked politicians and greedy Clergy? We all know what needs to be done, yet we stand by and let the defectives who protect the status quo, lead with deference. What holds us back from true revolt? The military might try to defend the inbred elites for a litle while, but then their eyes too would open at the insanity they are defending. If most of our citizens took to the streets and knew that they could count on one another stand with them, it wouldn't take long to put our country on the path to true Democracy and rationality. There may be some WMD makers displaced,but if nothing else they could learn the "service industry." Really, our country could be a model for the world rather than the terrorist that it has become. People like Bush,Cheney etc.. could be tried and made examples of. Our prisoners could be much less than the 1 in 5 Americans that they are today. Capitalism that puts people above profits can work. Of course the extremely greedy might not like it. But they are the real criminals anyway. France has a four day work week,5 weeks annually paid vacation,universal healthcare. Cuba has free college and some of the best doctors in the world. Remember when Doctors wanted to help people rather than become wealthy? When newscasts had to give all sides to a story? When the press actually wanted to know and report what was happening in our government? All of this was before our country was ruled by a few individuals. They become wealthy off of things they made illegal and by stealing ownership of things that God(Mohamed,Yaweh etc..)never meant to be owned. Healthcare, land, freedoms,etc.... 	md, I like your thinking today, even if you always to manage to sound too 'preachy'. Loosen up but tighten up at the same time. It's time you switch to an anonymus server. It can't be hard, I do it. Opera Tor, google that before "Homeland Insecurity" gets on your ass. To go total anon takes a bit of clicking and stuff, and start complaining to Dubyad to make it so you don't need Java to get the site. Java's bad news for anonimity and I don't want to share a cell with you at Gitmo, I don't think I could take it in confined quarters. And it's sort of fun even! Never know where I'll "be" until I trace my own server. Sort of like traveling but without all that hassle.
