McCain Says He Did Vote For George W. Bush

ABC News' Jan Simmonds and Jennifer Parker report: Heightening a he-said she-said brouhaha, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., today disputed liberal blogger Arianna Huffington's assertion that the presumptive Republican nominee voted against George W. Bush during the 2000 election.

"It's nonsense," said McCain, whose campaign has suggested Huffington made up the story to promote her new book. Huffington, a former Republican, supports the presidential campaign of Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill.

...

Two other guests at Bergen's party, former "West Wing" actors Bradley Whitford and Richard Schiff, have come forward this week in the media to say that they, too, heard McCain say he didn't vote for Bush.

Campaigning today in New Jersey, McCain disputed the story.

"I voted, campaigned for, worked as hard as I could for President Bush's election in 2000 and 2004," McCain told reporters. "I voted for President Bush, I said so at the time. I know we're already in silly season, but my record stands very clearly of campaigning all over this nation on behalf of the candidacy of President Bush."

McCain also admonished the media.

"In all due respect, this is all not worth our time ...this happened eight years ago."

So I guess his military service isn't worth our time either, because it happened a long time ago.

Unless America wants a third Bush term, nothing about McCain is worth our time. He has become such a Bush sycophant in the last few years, that I doubt if he has any free will left. It has all been bought and paid for. He really did start off as promising but he has completely sold out for a chance of right wing neo-con support. He and Lieberman are perfect lost souls. They are zombies.

Alright already, we HEAR YOU!! But really, why is a lying politician an issue even worth talking about? Show me one who isn't, and McCains been one longer than most of have been alive (or at least voting). OK, we have a semi senile terrorist (dropping thousand pound explosives 20,000 feet onto whoever happens to be down there is clearly terrorism, cept when performed by one of our vaunted "troops"), and his history of pathological lying isn't like he's the Lone Ranger up there in the never never land we call Washington. The trick, and he might have actually succeded, is when you actually believe your own bullshit. That makes you an honorary Clinton. That either one of them still have the nerve to call themselves Democrats is a sorry statement on either the Democratic party or us, ya know "we the people", or maybe both. But I don't think ole Johnny boy's gonna make it through the campaign. In fact I think the Neo 'leadership' has that already planned. Look out for his running mate choice. That's where the real shit lies, I think.
