$19 Billion in Congressional earmarks: Bad. $70 Billion in Iraq earmarks: Critical posted by Wally 11:05 AM No wonder dubya is threatening vetoes and issuing executive orders to cut (or ignore) the $19 billion in earmarks in this year's budget. He needs that money - plus another 51 Billion on top of it - to play with his toy soldiers in Irag. Bush to ask for $70 billion in partial 2009 war funding The Bush administration will ask Congress next week for $70 billion to fund the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and other related operations for part of the 2009 fiscal year, the Pentagon said on Monday. The funding would be in addition to the administration's request for the regular Pentagon budget which is to be presented next week. Since the September 11, 2001, attacks on the United States, Congress has approved $691 billion to pay for wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and such related activities as Iraq reconstruction, the Congressional Budget Office said last week. Of the total, the CBO estimated that $440 billion had been spent on the war in Iraq. That $70,000,000,000.00 (look at all those zeroes) comes to another $233.33 for every man, woman, and child in America. For "partially" funding one year of his catastrophic invasion and occupation. We'd be better off taking $233 one dollar bills and lighting them on fire. At least that way they'll help keep us warm, which could come in handy since "In 2007, according to the Labor Department, gasoline and home heating prices rose 29.4 percent." Remember, every dollar spent blowing things up and killing people in Iraq means another dollar that can't be spent on things like improving education, providing healthcare to poor kids, securing the future of Social Security. Another 70 Billion dollars that won't be spent taking care of the REAL threats to America, like fixing the crumbling roads and dangerous bridges, taking steps to prevent disasters like Katrina and cleaning up after they occur, protecting the environment, protecting the Civil Liberties guaranteed by the Bill of Rights and the Constitution, etc, etc, etc. What will the Democratic leadership in congress say about it? If history is any indication, they'll talk tough and threaten to impose non-binding timelines and benchmarks - and then they'll give Chimpy McWarhardon yet another blank check, just like they always do. 	I know that money is God in the U.S. but is that ALL there is? When not blaming the other guy do you ever face the fact that both parties seem to compete over who can spend more on your terrorist military? Why are pilots that are dropping 2000 pound bombs on humans considered "heros" by everybody regardless of party. Aren't they the most despicable of terrorists, bombers? At least that's what you call anybody else that uses bombs, and in much more "heroic" conditions than pushing buttons from 10000 meters above their victims. But the real mystery to me is how 'bad' a guy is depends on his party. Liberals don't seem to fit the dictionary definition in my English one because 500,000+ dead Iraqi children by a Democrat President, plus indiscriminate U.S. terrorism on four countries is worshiped as a "great" president who when he wasn't murdering whoever got in the way of high tech WMDs spent the rest of his time cutting funds for the poor and putting more people in jail for pot and at the same time increased funding for the rich. Is it because you could buy cheap gas? I know Gringos don't get out much but the whole world has been paying a U.S. dollar per litre since I was born. So it is OK when your party does the same thing but is bad when the other party does the same? It's very confusing. We all pay taxes to the U.S. so I have a right to wonder. Inflation is not an accident you know. It's a calculated tax. You pay it too but we do too but don't have any say about it. Isn't war, war machines and terrorism what the U.S. does regardless who is 'leading' you? I'm not stupid, pretty much everybody is confused about these things. A U.S. Secretary of State or whatever they are called proclaims with no apparent shame that half a million innocent dead children is "worth it" and you say nothing. But a Republican that tortures a few hundred "sand niggers" is evil? Again I don't "get it". This sites party even kills the more valuable "Americans" kids and the President that did it is "great"? This puta you have now is a very bad man, everybody out here in the real world knows that but you seem to think that we (I read this here sometimes recently) love the last one? Who told you that? It's true the rich do but they love all U.s. leaders. Nobody asks anybody but them but I assure you most dont' see much difference. What constitution does all partys talk about? The one written by all those people isn't the one you use today and I can't find out when the new one was written. Has it ever occured to Americans that we (the rest of humanity, you know the other 96 percent) only want the 55 percent of everything you don't take? Does it really make any difference who is in charge? The "liberal" democratic party now takes more money from the bad evil (your choice of words not mine) petrol corporations but I never have seen you talk about that. What is the difference? I really havent counted but everybody buys Nike and Adidas, two examples of profiting from if Americans had to do it would be called slavery. Do you know that 3 Americans have more money than the poorest 68 countries in the world combined out here past American Idol Or since Americans are worth more than us the same three have more than the 100 million "poorest" Americans? Is it because your President is retarded or something is wrong with his head? If he trembled his lip and told you he "felt your pain" make a difference? Because it didnt make any difference to the hundreds of thousands of innocents he murdered. And why does you need so many terrorists and fancy stuff. "Terrorism" is pretty cheap (dollar or God wise) for others but it doesnt seem to matter whos in charge, both partys always want to spend more of your money on terrorism, but I've seen pictures and read that univerisity students often can't read or write properly and your bridges fall down because nobody fixes them. I am getting off what I am trying to ask, all you talk about is how much money murdering people costs. That is wrong but Americans, seem to like killing people as long as their 'party' pulls the trigger. If the world would give you your petrol would you stop calling your terrorists heros? I dont think so but maybe i'm wrong, but the only way to see into the future is to look at the past. Why don't you do that? Where I live most of your "heros" would be in jail but you worry and cry and stick silly yellow ribbons all over and complain because they need more bombs and bullets. You think every body dreams of living in your military police state, which would be very funny were it not so sick. I have many friends that went there and they couldnt wait to get out of there and come home. You are financially bankrupt and dream you are rich. You cant afford to kill us so you sell your soul to your enemys so they will lend you money for more bombs and pay millionairs to give us your jobs and then build a giant wall because you are afraid of us coming to pick your fruits and vegatables. Its so crazy that people can't figure you out. I assure that getting murdered by a republican terrorist or a democrat terrorist is no different. My country has an average wage of less than a thousand U.S. dollars a year but our lifespan is longer. Maybe you should stop being worried how much it costs to kill us and all of you get mental help. All I read here and in "republican" sites is how much it costs to kill us. Maybe a line or two about us "poor dead victims of your terrorist heros", why is that, for "balanced" reporting? Please dont elect another Clinton, the world suffered enough the first time.
