Another chance for Gore?

-snip-

Publicly, Gore hasn't ruled out running, but neither has he evinced much interest.

But when one friend asked him recently about another campaign, Gore didn't dismiss the question out of hand. "We'll see how things go," he replied.

Another Democratic source says that in recent weeks, the former vice president's camp has quietly put out feelers to presidential politicos, asking whether they are committed for 2008.

The passage of time has a way of putting things and people in perspective, and six-plus years after he won the national popular vote but lost the presidency by half a whisker in Florida, Gore looks good.

Gore!

From the post:

"but lost the presidency by half a whisker in Florida"

Ummm....NO! He didn't lose by a whisker in Florida. He lost because of the Supreme Court.

Just my two cents...

Unfortunately, Gore is too firmly entrenched in environmental issues. While I admire the work he's done on this issue and agree that it's an urgent situation, this country needs someone who can fight all battles - not just on the environment. Regardless of his true capabilities, he will forever be branded a "tree hugger". That isn't going to give him the votes he'll need to win.

Obama, on the other hand, is beginning to appeal to a diverse crowd because he hasn't narrowed his agenda to one issue. People think his lack of political experience is a negative, but I see it as a positive. After years of backroom dealing, the last person we need is someone adept at this type of "politicking". Besides, anyone who has read his autobiography would see that his life experiences give him much more knowledge and wisdom regarding the issues we face than the life experience of someone like - well, just about everyone in Washington. He has the integrity to not only win, but move this country in the right direction again.

One thing about Bush, he makes anybody look good. One thing about the whole of the "might run" crowd, not a one of them is fit to hold the job. They're all corporate stooges and their records prove it. Our "saviours" the Democrats are really getting gutsy, they're going to pass a 'nonbinding resolution' that they don't like funding, but they'll fund anyway, our terror occupation of Iraq. I feel safer already!
