Saddam to be hanged by Sunday Sunday Sunday!

Former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, sentenced to death for his role in 148 killings in 1982, will have his sentence carried out by Sunday, NBC News reported Thursday. According to a U.S. military officer who spoke on condition of anonymity, Saddam will be hanged before the start of the Eid religious holiday, which begins at sundown Saturday.
The hanging could take place as early as Friday, NBC's Richard Engel reported.
The U.S. military received a formal request from the Iraqi government to transfer Saddam to Iraqi authorities, NBC reported on Thursday, which is one of the final steps required before his execution. His sentence, handed down last month, ordered that he be hanged within 30 days.
Earlier Thursday, Saddam's chief lawyer implored world leaders to prevent the United States from handing over the ousted leader to Iraqi authorities for execution, saying the former dictator should enjoy protection from his enemies as a "prisoner of war."

Every day, just when I think I've heard it all, something comes along that blows me away. Saddam is going to swing for killing 148 people!? Has Disney taken over the minds of the world? Of all our unsavory "friends" (yes Saddam was swapping spit with Rummy after all this was done and known). And how does, and I don't mean to ignore the reality of the pain to those involved, just 148 friggin people compare with our "Surviver" based foriegn policy? Doesn't that mean that Bush should be hung 762 times (more or less). And doesn't the fact that it's still not totally clear that this wasn't an Iranian action, or some type of accidental massacre count as mitigating circumstances? And don't forget that he was killing Iranians by the thousands at our urging and with our complicity. Saddams big mistake was the same as Noriagas and all the rest of our fair weather friends, he told us to go fuck ourselves and he knows way too much about shit you've never even heard of. Myself, I'm going to miss old Saddam, he reminds me so much of the entire Bush family that the old adage "misery loves company" gave me a feeling of solidarity with the Iraqis. Saddam is sort of like Tito, a repugnant person, but better than the alternnatives, as we are seeing so clearly now. There's a lot of people that need hanging in this world, but the rope makers would have to work three shifts just to produce what's needed for Washington D.C. I think every politician who's ever voted for war funding should be required to do an essay test on the Constitution, and if they get less than an A, well...hang the fuckers! (to throw a bone to the religious fruitcake right, do em in rows of 12, for the 12 disciples...I stole that idea from Columbus, who used to use it on the native populations of the lands he was "discovering")
